The private terrace is the ideal spot for an alfresco breakfast, and while there’s no oven here, you’ll find a whole host of eateries locally waiting to serve up a true taste of the region. With so much within walking distance and excellent transport links nearby for jaunts further afield, a car isn’t needed here. We adore its stunning views over Mount Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples. You’ll find here a dining table for eight, benches, sun loungers, parasols and an outdoor shower.

Inside this recently renovated apartment, French doors allow plenty of light in. Two of the double bedrooms have access to the main terrace, while the other double bedroom has doors to a smaller balcony, so you can walk straight out in the morning – how wonderful is that?

When you fancy exploring the area, it couldn’t be easier – the beautiful coastal town of Sorrento is a short drive away (it's also easily walkable if you prefer). Alternatively, have a wander around Sant'Agnello or bask on the sands of Spiaggia La Marinella, a short walk away. The train station is just 500 metres from this home, with services to Pompei, Ercolano and Naples, while buses link to many places of interest, including Paestum and the Royal Palace of Caserta.

This contemporary villa boasts a serene position on Italy’s southwestern coast. It’s an easy stroll to the beach and down town Sorrento is just a fifteen-minute walk away. You’ll also find a great restaurant nearby, but we imagine you’ll love dining at home thanks to the outdoor kitchen and barbecue. There’s also a private pool and plenty of lounging spots, while the cool interior makes it easy to switch off after a day in the sun. Each of the bedrooms has direct access to the garden and there are en-suite bathrooms – adding a wonderful sense of privacy.

The beach is just two-minutes away and you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops within easy reach. It’s possible to walk into Sorrento or you can jump on the train – just a short stroll away. Back at home, kick off your shoes and enjoy lazy evenings in the private garden. There is also a small hot tub – setting the tone for total relaxation. Inside, the open-plan layout works well for couples, solo travellers or families with the handy addition of a sofa bed for one guest.

You’re at the gateway to the stunning Amalfi Coast with a stay at this smart bolthole set in Sant'Agnello, a charming neighbourhood fringing Sorrento. Perched just two hundred metres from the lift leading down to the glorious sandy shores of Marinella Beach, a fifteen-minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, and with quick connections to legendary Pompeii and Capri, you couldn’t dream up a better location. And you could never go hungry here, with Nonna-esque pizzerias and traditional trattorias for the freshest seafood imaginable just fifty metres from your door.

Back home, those dazzling views of lofty palms and the distant sea first caught our eye at this apartment set in a handsome period building. Designed to make the most of the panoramas from all angles, the impressive balcony linking the living room and one of the bedrooms is the spot to drink up the vistas (preferably with a glass of chilled Campanian wine in hand). But if the weather doesn’t buck up, curl up with freshly brewed coffees inside on the sofa and drink up the landscapes through the picture windows instead – it’s just as inviting.

Perfect for couples and solo travellers alike, this modern room is a delightful place to relax at the end of a day spent sightseeing along the Amalfi coast. If a dip in the Tyrrhenian is in order, head to Peter’s Beach or stay closer to home and visit Spiaggia La Marinella – it’s only a short walk from your building.

This home boasts truly breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast. It’s a short drive from Sorrento, with a path that leads directly from the villa to the village of Sant’Elia, through a beautiful valley. You’ll have everything you might need for a relaxing stay here, with a hot tub, private outdoor heated pool, and an alfresco dining space – your host can arrange for a chef to prepare Italian feasts. There’s also exercise equipment, should you fancy a work out – I think we'd prefer to unwind on a sun lounger, though.

In charming Sant’Agnello, this apartment makes a great base for those keen to experience the quieter side of Sorrento. The atmosphere here is more laid-back, yet you'll still find plenty of restaurants within easy reach. Sorrento's beaches and town square are also just a twenty-minute stroll away. Back home, rest your feet in the breezy living area or snuggle up in the two comfortable bedrooms. We're also big fans of the private balcony. It's small, but it works well for sundowners – and you'll even have a slight view of the sea and Mount Vesuvius.

Based on the gorgeous Sorrento Coast, this home is nestled in a large garden that’s filled with palm trees and camellias, providing a peaceful place to relax in the sunshine. A stay here means you’ll also have shared access to the beautiful outdoor pool, a great spot for feeling refreshed and rejuvenated when the Italian heat turns up.

We love the kitchen, with ornate tiling and gorgeous marble surfaces that make it feel inviting for cooking up delicious Italian salads and pasta dishes. The lounge is lovely too, featuring a wonderful fireplace for cosying up next to on colder winter evenings. Each bedroom features its own en-suite, so all guests can feel like a VIP when they stay here.

When you want to venture out and explore, you’ll be well placed for visiting the beach – there’s even a beach elevator based a short stroll away, so you can get down to the sand with ease. Here, there’s a wonderful beach resort where you can enjoy a Prosecco in the sunshine. The heart of Sorrento isn’t far off either for when you want to visit lovely bars and cafes.

While parking is a little tricky here, you can easily explore the local area on foot, with many restaurants and bars within walking distance. There are also great transport links to the Amalfi Coast and neighbouring towns and villages like Positano. The star of the show here is the private terrace, which offers beautiful views, a small private pool, an outdoor Jacuzzi bath and an alfresco dining area.

But actually, we found the location the most desirable thing about this home – you'll find a shop and restaurant less than 300m away and when you're eager to explore the port of Sorrento or the narrow alleys of Sant'Agnello, find public transport only minutes away.

One of three stylish suites within a recently renovated 16th-century building in the centre of Sant'Agnello, this studio space combines period features with contemporary design for a captivating combination. Think secluded interior courtyard access and soaring vaulted ceilings, sitting alongside industrial-inspired design elements and chic 

The apartment is situated in a quiet residential area, just a couple of kilometres outside Sorrento. With easy access to the coast by car or public transport, the location is perfect for those who like to pick and choose when to enter the hustle and bustle of the neighbouring clifftop tourist towns. What the apartment lacks in kitchen facilities, it more than makes up for in proximity to delightful local cafes and family-run restaurants, plus dramatic views over the Gulf of Naples from nearby Piazzetta Marinella and its adjacent beach might persuade you to stay put. 

Elsewhere, the abundant charms of Positano, Praiano and Amalfi make for an alluring loop that shows off everything this iconic stretch of the Italian coast has to offer.

When you want to explore, the main square of Sant'Agnello is an easy stroll, while Sorrento is a short drive away. If you want to sit back and let someone else do the driving, your host here can arrange all sorts of tours, including excursions along the Amalfi Coast and to the Island of Capri.

It has everything you might need, including a spa and gym on the basement level – this home is spread over four floors, but thankfully there’s a lift. You’ll also find a terrace that showcases sea views, and an outdoor patio that’s a wonderful spot for alfresco meals. As well as being close to all the city sights, you’ll also be just 700 metres from pebbly Spiaggia La Marinella and 3 kilometres from the sandy shores of Marina Grande. There’s also a bus stop nearby, so you can easily visit Positano and Amalfi.

Luxe Hideaway

Housed in a residential building, this sleek room offers a convenient hotel alternative for solo travellers or couples, equipped with everything needed for a fuss-free stay. Location-wise, you're in the heart of Sorrento, just a short walk from the beach. You'll also be within easy reach of the port, with restaurants and bars on your doorstep – handy, as this pad doesn't come with a kitchen. The interiors are a little basic for our liking, but it's modern and there's a dedicated workspace. Plus, the freestanding tub is the perfect place to relax after busy days spent travelling.
