Location-wise, you're in the heart of Sorrento, just a short walk from the beach. You'll also be within easy reach of the port, with restaurants and bars on your doorstep – handy, as this pad doesn't come with a kitchen. The interiors are a little basic for our liking, but it's modern and there's a dedicated workspace. Plus, the freestanding tub is the perfect place to relax after busy days spent travelling.

This home is on the third floor with no lift, but your host can help you with your luggage. Inside, the open-plan living space is light and airy, but two people will be sleeping on a sofa bed here at full capacity. The address is fantastic – this apartment is in one of the most exclusive areas on the Sorrento Coast. Head out to explore the restaurants and bars in the town, as well as the stunning beaches located just a short stroll away. This place would suit a family as the single bedroom is off the main bedroom and also at full capacity, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed. Otherwise, this is an ideal apartment for your Italian escape.

When it's time to explore, you'll find the coastal towns of Massa Lubrense and Sorrento a short drive away. Drink in the glorious views of the coast and the island of Capri, which serves as a stunning backdrop. Your days here can be spent revelling in the sunny weather, dozing beneath a blue sky, and dining alfresco. Children will love the play area, while grown-ups will enjoy sipping Italian wine on the terrace as the sun is setting.

We adore how the open-plan layout is designed for spending quality time with your loved ones. Over your morning coffee, nibble on frittatas while making plans at this dining table. Ideal for remote working, get your head down at the bedroom desk before slipping out onto this sun-kissed balcony. Be sure to raise a glass of local wine to a happy holiday after a busy day of sightseeing.

There's no doubt it's stylish, but it's also packed with modern amenities that make your stay a dream, from rainfall showers to a kitchen where you'll love rustling up Italian feasts. We adore the quirky touches here, too – our favourite is the stone wall in the shower, which uses the rocky facade of the mountain. 

Did we mention the two sun-kissed balconies? Both offer excellent spots to breathe in the coastal breezes and bask in Sorrento's good weather. Whether you're dining alfresco under the shady parasol or sharing a bottle of Italian wine on the outdoor sofas, this is the place to sit back, relax and fall in love with Sorrento.

Location-wise, you can't do much better. Beaches, eateries and shops are all just steps away. Take a stroll along the postcard-pretty marina in the mornings, followed by lunch at a waterfront restaurant. Do some sightseeing in the historic centre in the afternoons, including a wander around Piazza Tasso and a stop off at the Cattedrale dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo. You're also about an hour or so drive from Naples and Pompeii – perfect for day trips.

It’s a short drive from Sorrento, with a path that leads directly from the villa to the village of Sant’Elia, through a beautiful valley. You’ll have everything you might need for a relaxing stay here, with a hot tub, private outdoor heated pool, and an alfresco dining space – your host can arrange for a chef to prepare Italian feasts. There’s also exercise equipment, should you fancy a work out – I think we'd prefer to unwind on a sun lounger, though.

The house itself consists of four apartments – making this a great option for groups looking to stretch out and spend quality time together. Each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom and there is a sofa bed for one guest in the second apartment. Private parking is available and you’ll find plenty to explore in the surroundings. From here, it’s just a fifteen minute drive into Sorrento and the nearest beaches. The bus stop is just a three-minute walk away and your host is on hand to help organise private transfers.

The home is spread between the main villa and an apartment with a separate entrance, which is ideal for a small family seeking more privacy – though two of these guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room. But for a relaxing coastal break in such a pretty setting, we can forgive that.

There are four elegant bedrooms, each with its own en-suite, and there’s plenty of space to gather together, inside and out. You’ll have your own dock so exploring the Amalfi Coast is a breeze. There are also lush gardens and a waterfront Jacuzzi to unwind in – it’s impossible to leave here feeling stressed. 

Blue Sorrento

Tucked away in the hills above Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, this villa is a real hidden gem. It boasts stunning views of the Bay of Naples and the rugged hills of the Sorrento Peninsula – you may find it difficult to tear your gaze away. 

The villa is modern and stylish, with heaps of space. You can spend time together as a group, but also slip away for a quiet moment here. The home gym means you needn’t miss out on workouts, and the elegant spa-like bathtub means you can relax just as easily. 

Best of all, the outside space is wonderful. The terrace has an outdoor kitchen and a barbecue with glorious views. If you’re anything like us, you’ll want to spend all your time out here. When you’re not cooking or dining, you can stretch out on a sofa and drink in the view as you top up your tan. Children will love the free-standing swimming pool, too. 

It takes around ten minutes to stroll to Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, where you can shop and dine out. Slightly further afield but still within easy reach is Massa Lubrense, a pretty town known for its pastel-coloured houses perched on cliffs. Stroll around the harbour to admire the boats while tucking into gelato. Sorrento and all of its beauty and style are a twenty-minute drive away. There’s something for everyone here.

You’re at the gateway to the stunning Amalfi Coast with a stay at this smart bolthole set in Sant'Agnello, a charming neighbourhood fringing Sorrento. Perched just two hundred metres from the lift leading down to the glorious sandy shores of Marinella Beach, a fifteen-minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, and with quick connections to legendary Pompeii and Capri, you couldn’t dream up a better location. And you could never go hungry here, with Nonna-esque pizzerias and traditional trattorias for the freshest seafood imaginable just fifty metres from your door.

Back home, those dazzling views of lofty palms and the distant sea first caught our eye at this apartment set in a handsome period building. Designed to make the most of the panoramas from all angles, the impressive balcony linking the living room and one of the bedrooms is the spot to drink up the vistas (preferably with a glass of chilled Campanian wine in hand). But if the weather doesn’t buck up, curl up with freshly brewed coffees inside on the sofa and drink up the landscapes through the picture windows instead – it’s just as inviting.

You’ll find this contemporary apartment in the heart of Sorrento, just a short walk from Piazza Tasso and a one-minute stroll from the main street, Corso Italia. Perfect for families or couples looking for a comfortable base to explore the city, just note that at full occupancy, two people will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area here. Still, with a sun-kissed balcony to catch the Sorrento sun and an enviable location, it’s a small price to pay. Nearby restaurants offer authentic Italian cuisine, while the beaches in Marina Piccola are just a short walk away – what’s not to love?

With far-reaching views of the Bay of Nerano and the Amalfi Coast, it’s not hard to see why this home made it into our collection. Spread across three levels, there’s plenty of space for a large family or group of friends to spread out and enjoy some private time here. That said, with the multitude of sun-drenched terraces and cosy alfresco dining spots, we’re sure the outdoor space will be a hit with all. Locally, Nerano Bay is a short walk away if you fancy a splash in the sea, and the nearby town of Massa Lubrense is well worth a visit for some authentic cuisine. 

Limoncello Bliss

This contemporary villa boasts a serene position on Italy’s southwestern coast. It’s an easy stroll to the beach and down town Sorrento is just a fifteen-minute walk away. You’ll also find a great restaurant nearby, but we imagine you’ll love dining at home thanks to the outdoor kitchen and barbecue. There’s also a private pool and plenty of lounging spots, while the cool interior makes it easy to switch off after a day in the sun. Each of the bedrooms has direct access to the garden and there are en-suite bathrooms – adding a wonderful sense of privacy.

Follow the views outside and down to the second apartment, where you’ll find an abundant garden inviting you to enjoy rejuvenating dips in the small heated pool, and heavenly afternoons gazing at the views from a sun lounger. Both apartments feature fully equipped kitchens and air-conditioned rooms – setting the tone for a bright and breezy stay by the Mediterranean sea. 

From here, it’s just a short walk to Colli di Fontanelle where you’ll find a small square with a market, gelato shop and bar. And for explorations further afield, the majestic streets of Sorrento and Positano are just a short drive away, while the coast is peppered with tiny beaches and coves.

If a dip in the Tyrrhenian is in order, head to Peter’s Beach or stay closer to home and visit Spiaggia La Marinella – it’s only a short walk from your building.
