Despite its position in an old, atmospheric square near Campo de’ Fiori, Falconry has been renovated recently, and most of the furniture has been made to measure, making the whole place feel very well crafted. Everything fits together, from the parquet floor to the various lamps, and even the terrace is taken care of, and not an afterthought. High up among the rooftops, it feels like a little refuge from the hectic city below.

You’ll be a short walk from many of the Eternal City’s main attractions, including Piazza del Popolo and Villa Borghese. There are also excellent shopping, dining out, and transport options practically on your doorstep. The apartment is contemporary and functional, with high ceilings and a convenient kitchen. At full occupancy, privacy is somewhat limited – two guests will sleep on a sofa bed on the open mezzanine above one of the bedrooms.

Staying in such a central spot means you’ll be within walking distance of many of Rome’s most iconic attractions – the Trevi Fountain is only a few minutes away. You’ll also be perfectly placed to hit the shops. This is an excellent base for a family, with interconnected rooms and an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space. Heavy packers, be warned – there are quite a few stairs to tackle here.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better location than this. Set just moments from the Tiber and a short stroll to Rome’s most iconic sights, this apartment makes sightseeing feel effortless. Inside, space is a little tight – as is often the case in this part of town – but large windows in the living area bring in plenty of light. With herringbone floors, stylish furnishings and a smart layout that maximises every inch, it’s perfectly suited for two.

Thanks to the attention given to every corner of this luxury apartment, it really feels like a home. The owners take care of it personally, and it's easy to feel the emotion they put into the space. Sit on one of two balconies with a glass of Italian wine or enjoy a family meal in the light-filled living space (your host provides a welcome hamper or let them arrange a private chef for you). Each room has its own private bathroom, so it's perfect for a family or a big group of friends. A rarity In Rome, this place also has a parking space. There are even some glimpses of the Vatican City from this abode, or it's a ten-minute ride to this treasure trove of iconic art and architecture. It's a twenty-minute drive to the stunning Trevi Fountain or the Baldo Degli Ubaldi metro station is just a minute away on foot, if you want to explore further. For some peaceful green space, on the other hand – head to Parco di Villa Carpegna with its shady benches and fountains, a mere ten-minute stroll away.

The cobbled street outside is utterly charming, and even with the crowds milling about a few hundred metres away, it's quite peaceful. Inside, the apartment is bright and roomy, with a sleek kitchen and two cosy sofas that you'll want to sink into after a busy. We particularly liked the beautiful artwork of local sights that adorn the walls, and there's even a delicious restaurant downstairs when you don't feel like cooking. End your evenings on the private terrace – just pour yourself a glass of wine and relax as the sun goes down, basking in the magic of Rome.

Finding a street close to it all but not inundated with tourists is the holy grail in Rome – and that's precisely where you'll find this apartment. We call it the Goldilocks zone. But, ever the professional, your host Michele hasn’t used that as an excuse to rest on his laurels. The flat itself is in perfect condition, and while it doesn’t have the feeling of a family home, that’s often a good thing when it's not a sprawling home with space for all the host's personal items. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the flat, which is perfect for groups of friends travelling together, though families might want little ones closer by, or not. We understand. Sandwiched between the river and lively Campo de' Fiori, you're in a prime location to explore the city. The square is home to the city's most vibrant (and occasionally overpriced) street market (Monday-Saturday mornings). Still, this famous foodie haven is a good place to stock up on fresh produce, just a five-minute walk from your apartment. Cross over the stone footbridge, Ponte Sisto, and within a couple of minutes, you'll be immersed in trendy Trastevere. With its cobbled streets lined with charmingly faded facades, innovative trattorias, and craft cocktail bars, there's plenty to keep you occupied well into the night.
