This apartment can be found in the popular seaside resort of Letojanni in Sicily. It’s just a few kilometres from Taormina, so there’s plenty to see and do. We recommend visiting Isola Bella in particular. The apartment looks out over the sea and has a small terrace where you can enjoy the sunshine. Even when you’re inside, the sea views are the focal point thanks to huge windows. The decor inside is chic with a playful side, with charming trinkets dotted around. We think this home is perfect for a couple, a small family, or a trio of friends.

The panoramic views across the Ionian and Taormina Bay, are what really caught our eye at this Letojanni villa. This home is all about maximising Sicilian living – multiple outdoor terraces for dining and lounging, a pristine pool and sun-bathing area, and minimalist bedrooms that open out onto the sea views. These vistas don't come so easy here – access to the villa is via a steep road – but it's worth the effort. The nearest beach is 2km away in Letojanni, while the cities of Taormina, Catania and Syracuse are great options for a day trip.

This luxurious villa is a stunning base in east Sicily. It’s just above the seaside town of Letojanni and is close to Taormina, with beaches nearby. The villa boasts truly glorious views over the Ionian Sea and Taormina, which can be admired from inside as well as outside, thanks to floor-to-ceiling sliding French doors. Inside, the decor is crisp and clean, and you’ll find everything you need to enjoy a comfortable, relaxing stay. There’s even a gym and a sauna. Outside, the infinity pool is the main focus – aside from the views. The pool has a hydromassage area, and there’s a separate Jacuzzi. We love the alfresco dining area – there’s a barbecue to cook on too.

We're also in love with the tropical garden, where wild bougainvillaea scents the air and leafy lemon trees provide shade from the sun. There are plenty of foliage-wrapped nooks and crannies where you can relax with a cup of tea and a good book and bask in the serene surroundings. It's hard to put a finger on what it is exactly that makes this address so extraordinary. Sure, the hillside location above the Sicilian coastline more than delivers when it comes to dramatically beautiful landscape to gaze out upon, but we've got a feeling that the villa would still wow in even the most uninspiring of settings.

A lot of that is down to the effortlessly chic design that can be found throughout the four floors, with stylish furnishings, large light-filled communal areas and flooring so shiny that you can probably see your own face staring back in it. It does no harm that there are also a fair few balconies that offer a splendid vantage point from which to admire the scenery.

As well as being easy on the eye, there's an enviable list of amenities at guests' disposal. Many of these lie outside, including the heated saltwater swimming pool and Jacuzzi surrounded by loungers, plus the covered outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and dining table. However, there's plenty more to be discovered inside, not least the gym, massage room and sauna that can be found on the ground level.

You might just feel no pressing need to leave the address, but there's a whole lot to see and do nearby. There's a sandy beach all of 600m away from the home, while the nearby towns of Naxos and Taormina offer a great array of restaurants, shops and attractions, too.

Visit nearby Mount Etna and the Alcantara canyons, or just 2 kilometres away, you’ll find the hilltop town of Taormina, with its Greco-Roman theatre or spend the day on the beach closeby (1.5 kilometres away).

You’ll find this apartment located between Giardini Naxos and Taormina, only 20 meters from a part sandy, part gravel beach. The home is situated on the 3rd floor and features a living area with comfortable seating and a kitchen corner with everything you need for rustling up Sicilian-inspired meals. If you’d prefer to eat out, there’s a restaurant just 50 metres away. The best bit? The sea view terrace. Especially at sundown with a tipple in hand.

We are particularly impressed by the outdoor areas, which feature a pool set amidst a landscape garden and plenty of space for catching the rays and enjoying alfresco feasts. The views are also pretty stunning and can be enjoyed both from inside and from the garden and terrace.

This apartment on the eastern edge of Sicily between Riposto and Acireale is a real feast for the eyes. Not only is the building in which it sits painted a vivid shade of pink that's instantly mood-lifting, but it also faces a gorgeous view of the Ionian Sea in one direction and Mount Etna the other way.

You can admire this panorama from the two terraces surrounded by verdant Mediterranean vegetation and palm trees, or out through the wooden windows. Although the interior can't hope to compete with these surroundings, the mix of rustic features and colourful flourishes are pleasing to be among. The patterned tiling in the kitchen and bathrooms is pretty, while the wooden furnishings and terracotta tilings add a real sense of homeliness.

As you can see from gazing out over the terrace, there's a pebbly beach that's easily reached from the home, but the nearest sandy spot is in Riposto six minutes' drive up the coastline. The port city of Catania is only thirty-five minutes away in the car too when you fancy a wander around the grand architecture and a meal in one of its seafood restaurants.
