This comfortable apartment is situated in the historic coastal town of Giardini Naxos, and it benefits from having a sea-facing balcony. The beach is located directly opposite the home’s main entrance and the surrounding area offers plenty of local shops and restaurants. At full capacity you may feel a tad squeezed here – we think that the place is best suited for a couple. Bear in mind that the pad is situated on the third floor with no lift.

It's hard to put a finger on what it is exactly that makes this address so extraordinary. Sure, the hillside location above the Sicilian coastline more than delivers when it comes to dramatically beautiful landscape to gaze out upon, but we've got a feeling that the villa would still wow in even the most uninspiring of settings.

A lot of that is down to the effortlessly chic design that can be found throughout the four floors, with stylish furnishings, large light-filled communal areas and flooring so shiny that you can probably see your own face staring back in it. It does no harm that there are also a fair few balconies that offer a splendid vantage point from which to admire the scenery.

As well as being easy on the eye, there's an enviable list of amenities at guests' disposal. Many of these lie outside, including the heated saltwater swimming pool and Jacuzzi surrounded by loungers, plus the covered outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and dining table. However, there's plenty more to be discovered inside, not least the gym, massage room and sauna that can be found on the ground level.

You might just feel no pressing need to leave the address, but there's a whole lot to see and do nearby. There's a sandy beach all of 600m away from the home, while the nearby towns of Naxos and Taormina offer a great array of restaurants, shops and attractions, too.

Spread across two floors, you’ll need to climb some stairs here, but once upstairs you’ll be rewarded with stunning views from the two private terraces. There’s enough space here for a large family or a group of friends, and the place is also well-equipped to accommodate children. Pop open a bottle of Marsala and relax on the terrace, taking in the views of the bay. 

The Sun Bay

The panoramic views across the Ionian and Taormina Bay, are what really caught our eye at this Letojanni villa. This home is all about maximising Sicilian living – multiple outdoor terraces for dining and lounging, a pristine pool and sun-bathing area, and minimalist bedrooms that open out onto the sea views. These vistas don't come so easy here – access to the villa is via a steep road – but it's worth the effort. The nearest beach is 2km away in Letojanni, while the cities of Taormina, Catania and Syracuse are great options for a day trip.

Painted Blue

Situated in the ancient town of Riposto, in the shadow of Mount Etna, this compact apartment enjoys the benefits of a private garden which offers stunning sea views. You’ll be able to enjoy your meals out here,  and later, you can stroll directly to the water’s edge. Due to its size, we think this home is best suited for couples or a small family – note that there’s a second apartment in the building so privacy might be compromised at times.

Nestled in the heart of Taormina, within a twenty-minute walk of Corso Umberto and the Teatro Antico di Taormina – the ancient Greek theatre still used today – it’s not hard to see why this home caught our eye. Step inside, and you’re met with traditional Sicilian decor that mixes seamlessly with modern touches, such as the big screen in the living room, perfect for movie nights. Sun worshipers will love the outdoor space. Whether you’re drinking in the distant sea views from the balcony, relaxing on the terrace, or swimming in the private pool, this villa makes the most of the Mediterranean climate. 

Bella Sicilia

This bright apartment has a private terrace with lovely views of Isola Bella. There’s also a shared swimming pool to enjoy in the verdant grounds. Inside, we’d say the interiors lack a bit of character and personality, but with so much to explore nearby, you’ll probably be out and about more. Visit nearby Mount Etna and the Alcantara canyons, or just 2 kilometres away, you’ll find the hilltop town of Taormina, with its Greco-Roman theatre or spend the day on the beach closeby (1.5 kilometres away).

This contemporary villa is located in Taormina, just a short drive from the historic centre and the beaches of Giardini Naxos, Isola Bella and Mazzarò. With modern touches throughout this home, you’ll want for nothing – it’s an ideal base for an extended family getaway or a group of friends. But for us, the outdoor space steals the show. Boasting views out to sea, Taormina, Castelmola, and Mount Etna, along with a private pool and sun-drenched terraces, it ticks all our holiday boxes. 

Sicilian Salt

With direct access to the beach and a private infinity pool, this home hits all the right notes when it comes to a rejuvenating retreat. You’ll also be serenaded by stunning views as well as a range of a luxurious home comforts – including a concierge service offering sweet extras like a private chef and catering. It’s worth noting one of the bedrooms is located in the independent garden annexe, but this is a great option for those seeking a little extra privacy. There’s also a gym, a home office for remote workers and plenty to explore in the surroundings. 


Bay of Bliss

Nestled rather picturesquely on the side of a hill which slopes right into the Ionian Sea, this cosy apartment is situated in the ancient town of Riposto. While compact in size, the place benefits from a large private garden where you’ll be able to enjoy alfresco meals and soak up the sun – you’ll also have direct access to the sea. Note that you’ll be sharing the building with the guests of the upstairs apartment – this being said, we think this pad makes for a great base for a couple or a small family on a Sicilian getaway.

The property boasts a stunning view over the surrounding landscape, Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. The home is within easy reach of several seaside towns such as Santa Teresa di Riva and Sant'Alessio, as well as the impressive Alcantara Gorges.

Should you wish to do some cooking yourself, the well-equipped country-style kitchen will inspire you to create delicious meals, using fresh local produce you’ll be able to pick up at the farmer’s market. 

The whole party will enjoy nights of sweet dreams and restful sleep, courtesy of the plush bedrooms. Wake up reinvigorated and start your day with breakfast and freshly brewed coffee while you admire those island views. 

Outside your gorgeous oasis you’ll find yourself just a short drive away from the beach, and there are also plenty of picturesque walks, including in Etna Park, to be explored closer to home. For a perfect day out, the historic city of Catania lies approximately forty-minutes away by car.

Tucked away in the hills of Mascali, this contemporary home opens its doors to the natural beauty of Sicily. From here, you can admire the views while relaxing by the saltwater pool. There is also a shaded terrace with a barbecue – perfect for balmy evening meals. Inside, the rooms are simple, fresh and family-friendly with children’s amenities available on request. Your host is also on hand to help organise a range of extra services – including private chefs and beauty treatments. We recommend hiring a car to get around here, but it’s just 3 kilometres to the nearest beach, while Taormina is just 20 kilometres away.
