The location is as dazzling as this gorgeous home – historic San Marco is right on your doorstep. Hop in a water taxi from the private jetty outside, and spend your days exploring the backwaters of this most romantic of cities, followed by a passeggiata down to Piazza San Marco for dinner (ten minutes on foot). This place is truly amazing – we did think of keeping it all to ourselves.

The Rialto Bridge is just a couple of minutes' boat ride down the canal. If you prefer to explore on two feet, a 13th-century church holding works by Titian is a two-minute stroll and the surrounding streets and filled with ancient piazzas, gelaterias and family-run trattoria.

The living room is the heart of the home – grand, majestic, and historic at once, its walls are covered in Renaissance art (don’t forget to ask the hosts about these paintings). This charming and functional apartment is a great choice for those looking to be in the heart of Venice. From here, you’ll have your pick of restaurants and bars, while St Mark's Square and Doge's Palace are a short walk away. Inside, there are two very compact kitchenettes, which are only suitable for preparing light bites. There's also a sofa bed for flexible sleeping options. But, the real standout is the private courtyard, complete with a garden set, perfect for morning coffees. Just keep in mind that this home is spread over multiple floors with no lift, so we recommend it for those who can easily manage stairs.

Tucked away in Venice's arty district of Dorsoduro, this charming home has a large private garden that kids will love, along with space for alfresco dining and sunbathing. The main bedroom enjoys its own en-suite, and while you won't have views in all the bedrooms here, the location is great. You won't be fully central, but you're never far from the action and you might hear some outside noise during your stay. You'll find a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops close by, as well as Vaporetto stops for easy travel across this iconic city.

Verdant Retreat

This tranquil Venetian haven is spread over four floors in the city's San Marco district. The rooftop terrace offers space to dine alfresco and some lovely views over the rooftops of the surrounding buildings. There are a lot of stairs here, making it unsuitable for children under the age of 6, but babies and older children are welcome. The main living space is on the second floor with multiple Juliet balconies – they're great for letting the outdoors in, but you won't have room to sit out on them. The kitchen is small, but fear not – there's a range of restaurants within walking distance, as well as vaporetto stops close by for exploring.

Casa della Terrazza

Ideally located in Venice’s Cannaregio neighbourhood, this traditional and stylish pad is within easy walking distance of the city’s historic landmarks and cultural institutions. You can arrive by boat here, with Fondamente Nuove, just steps away. The interiors are considered, with plenty of space for your cohort – the central dining room is the heart of this apartment and where we imagine you’ll share memorable meals. Keep in mind this is a central location, so noise is to be expected, though the artfully-designed bedrooms make falling asleep feel somewhat luxurious.

Venetian Gondola

This cosy apartment is just moments from St. Mark's Square and overlooks the maze-like beauty of Venice from its private balcony on the third floor. You'll need to climb stairs to reach it and the decor is on the simple side, but it's ideal if you want to be close to the action without being in the centre of everything. The kitchen is small here – good for cooking light meals, but fear not. You'll find a wealth of Venice's fantastic restaurants right on your doorstep, along with shops and the famous canals.

The Vaporetto

You'll find this apartment perched beside one of Venice's picturesque canals. The location is fantastic – and not just because the historic building has its own private bridge across the water. Piazza San Marco is a twelve-minute stroll, while Rialto Bridge is walkable in ten. If the location doesn't wow you, we reckon the interiors will. Exposed wooden beams and antique furniture add a traditional touch, while the well-appointed kitchen is more modern. Your host is also happy to arrange extras like welcome hampers, gondola rides, and other experiences, making this a sweet couple's retreat in the heart of the city.

Reached by a private bridge, this historic home has a wonderful Venetian setting. It’s just a twelve-minute walk from Piazza San Marco and nine minutes from the Rialto Bridge. A few vaporetto stops are also within walking distance, so reaching Marco Polo airport and the islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello, and the Lido is easy. Inside this apartment, you can watch gondolas passing on the canal or take in the vistas over the terracotta rooftops. The decor is traditional, and there’s a lived-in vibe, so this home may not suit minimalists. But if you need to work from home, you’ll be glad to know there are a couple of desks here.



A Canal of Dreams

Set in a serene spot near the Convent of the Eremite, this Venetian apartment drops you in a prime position for exploring the city. Peaceful yet close to many restaurants, shops, and attractions such as the Ca' Rezzonico Museum of 18th Century Art, you won’t find yourself lost for things to do here. You’ll need to climb the stairs to the first floor to access this fuss-free home, so it may not be the right fit for those with mobility issues. But peek out of the windows at the canal views and you’ll find the climb worth it.

Lovely Venice

This penthouse places you right on Venice's Grand Canal in Dorsoduro. The style is a little old-fashioned and we think the balcony could do with a bit of a refresh, but you'll have space for alfresco dining and the views over the city are gorgeous. Every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and one of the beds can be configured as a double or twin upon request, making it ideal for families and friend groups alike. You might hear some outside noise here, but you'll find a range of restaurants, museums, and water stops in the surrounding area for traversing the city with ease.

Canalview Haven

This stunning apartment on the picturesque Canal Dei Greci combines classic Venetian style with modern comforts. Its central location makes it the perfect base for exploring Venice's must-see sights, including St Mark's Square, the Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Clock Tower, all within a ten-minute walk. Enjoy lovely views over the canal and the historic leaning tower nearby, as gondolas glide past and water taxis drop you off at your front door. Keep in mind, the second-floor apartment is accessible by stairs. While this third-floor home is accessed via stairs only, once inside you’ll be charmed by the low-slung beams and the trompe-l'œil conservatory. Best of all, there’s a private rooftop terrace with breathtaking views over Venice’s terracotta rooftops. The vistas continue towards the churches of San Francesco Della Vigna, San Giorgio Maggiore and the bell tower of St. Mark’s – best enjoyed over an aperitivo at sunset. 


The Little Glass Book

Overlooking the picturesque Rio de le Eremite canal and with a church next door, this two-bedroom apartment places you right in the heart of Venice – perfect for a family who wants to explore. While we weren't too keen on the design of the quite plain twin room, the wooden beams overheard in the living area lend the home an authentic touch. The terrace is a welcome addition too, even if the furniture there could do with an update. And food fans will be pleased to know there is a wealth of dining options close by.

Whispering Canal

Surrounded by the vintage boutiques, independent shops and low-key eateries of Vencine’s Dorsoduro district, this apartment offers a relaxing retreat in the heart of Venice. Spread over three levels, there’s plenty of space here, and the plush furnishings give the place a homely feel. we love the rooftop terrace, which affords views over the city’s architectural masterpieces. If you’re in town for work or just need to keep on top of emails, the cosy office will no doubt come in handy. The top floor features a luxurious suite, ideal for a couple or small family who need their own space – the sofa turns into a sofa bed for a little one who needs to sleep close to their parents.

Drop your bags and explore Venice from this charming apartment in the San Samuele district. Located on the third and fourth floors and with its own rooftop terrace (which is on the smaller side but has lovely views), there are a lot of stairs here. Guests with reduced mobility may wish to look elsewhere, but families and friends hoping to make the most of Venice are in luck. It's an easy stroll to a grocery store, wine shop, and a range of cafes. And with several vaporetto (canal boat) stops close by, you'll be exploring the city in no time.

The apartment is all wood beams and antique furniture – if you like sleek, modern homes, this isn’t the one for you – but it’s full of character. We don't think you'll mind this home's topsy-turvy layout, where elegant living areas await upstairs under beamed ceilings. See how the San Polo sestiere puts the Rialto Market, plus charming bars and restaurants, within easy reach.

Jewel on the Grand Canal

Close to the domes of the Salute, this cosy apartment lies on a tree-lined avenue near the Grand Canal. Both beds can be configured as doubles or singles upon request, making this home a great choice whether you're travelling as a family, friend group, or couples. There is a chance you might hear some outside noise, but you won't be fully central and there's a water taxi stop close by for getting around. If you're looking for a quiet little base to set up a romantic trip in Venice, you can stop looking. This home is more functional than stylish, but it has everything you need for extended stays, including a well-equipped kitchen. And while the courtyard's furniture could do with an upgrade, the space is still perfect for spending some time away from the throng of tourists. Despite being tucked away in a quiet part of town, you're within walking distance of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Zattere promenade here.

Quaint Courtyard Abode

This apartment laid out over two floors sits in the restored home of a 15th-century Venetian Doge. Make your entrance by private water taxi and take in the elegant blend of modern and antique-inspired furnishings. The marble bathtub is a definite highlight, as is the Juliet balcony offering incredible canal views – best enjoyed over a glass of bubbly.  The kitchenette is on the small side here, but you’ll find plenty of restaurants nearby. The home is also a breezy stroll to the nearest museum and the famous Rialto market, and there are three vaporetto (water bus) stops nearby for easy movement around the city.

The rooms are elegant and classic, with plenty of space across the three floors to stretch out and relax. From here, it's just a short stroll to the restaurants, bars and galleries of Dorsoduro, as well as the water bus stop to take you across to St Mark’s Square. And if you’re in search of a little something extra special, your host can organise a range of additional services – including guided tours and private chefs.

Palazzo Bliss

Tucked down an alleyway in Venice's artsy Dorsoduro district, this apartment is a sweet retreat in a city famous for its heavy footfall. The main drawback is the lack of canal views, although you're just a short stroll from the water here. The Juliet balcony is a nice touch, and we like the traditional decor, even if it won't suit everyone's tastes. Part of a typical Venetian building, there's no lift here, so prepare to climb steps to reach the second floor – we suggest packing light. Nearby, you've historic buildings and a plethora of museums to explore, not to mention plenty of bars and eateries within walking distance.

Sunburst & Pine

Hidden in one of Venice's charming alleyways, this apartment may be pocket-sized, but it sure delivers on location. You'll find it in Dorsoduro, just a short walk from the eye-catching Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute and the artsy Gallerie dell'Accademia. It's on the first floor without a lift, so pack light. We love the Farrow & Ball wallpaper, and in a more practical sense, it's a good size for couples and the addition of a sofa bed makes sleeping arrangements flexible. We reckon you'll spend most of your time here out and about, however – especially since your host can arrange guided tours, gondola rides, cooking lessons and other special experiences.

Nestled in a secret courtyard on the San Marco border and just moments away from St. Mark’s Square lies this bold and elegant apartment. Expect imaginative designs and practical amenities here – a kitchenette for light bites and an open-plan living space for sharing a bottle of natural wine. If you’re visiting in a group, you can book multiple apartments in this Venetian building – though be prepared to climb some stairs. Located at the gondola-busy intersection of the San Zulian and Bareteri channels, this pad is perfectly placed for days on the canal and on the doorstep of the city’s famous sights, restaurants, and bars.

Pink Palazzo

Just steps from the famous St Mark's Square, this stylish ground-floor apartment enjoys views of the nearby Rio de San Zulian canal. You won't get much natural light here and the front door opens onto a courtyard which is frequented by tourists, so there is the potential for outside noise. The kitchenette is well-equipped for light meals, and while the decor is simple, we think the location more than makes up for it. You'll find a myriad of Venice's fantastic restaurants and shops just minutes away on foot, and the Rialto water taxi stop is easy to get to if you want to explore this iconic city further.

It’s in a peaceful setting in the refined parish of San Samuele, close to all of Venice’s main sights, including the Grand Canal.
