Within walking distance are small groceries, cafes, and the tram, which will quickly take you into the centre of town. The beautiful Jardim da Estrela is close by too – a garden where you can picnic beneath the shade of the trees in the summer. We'd recommend paying a visit to the Praça das Flores where you can buy drinks and pastries. Though when the weather is good, you might prefer simply spending time sipping a glass of wine on the balcony. It's the crowning jewel of this apartment, perfect for both your morning coffee and an evening nightcap under the stars.

The kitchen has everything you would need if you weren’t dining out in one of the gazillion acclaimed restaurants that Lisbon is famous for. Get the coffee maker on and wake up leisurely, and if you can, claim the master bedroom that comes with its own balcony and city views. We love the elevated touches in this home, like the HD projector you can plug your laptop into for film night on the mezzanine. Get your favourite tunes on the sound system for a summer soundtrack to pre-dinner drinks. Explore the city on your doorstep - potter around the nearby antique shops and independent boutiques. Pick up an iconic Portuguese custard tart on your way to the nearby subway station Baixa-Chiado and explore further afield. If you don’t fancy exploring on foot, the famous Tram 28 passes through the district, while the Glória Funicular is just over a five-minute saunter. Back at this modern home – there’s a lot we adore about this place, from the wooden floors and inspirational quotes to the gorgeous bathroom and little windows with cute shutters. Set on a typical cobbled street, full of restaurants and cafes, and close to the luxurious Avenida da Liberdade, this traditional home can be found in a historic building. Freshly renovated and flooded with natural light, it's a cheerful space that's perfectly located for those wanting to explore Lisbon like a local. The pine floor is bright and comforting, while the large, open-plan living space has several big windows and two sets of doors opening to a narrow balcony that overlooks Jardim do Torrel – perfect for an afternoon walk. The kitchen isn't huge but it's well-equipped and there's a pretty dining table for evenings in. An apartment on two levels, a modern staircase leads up to the bedrooms in the eaves (we love the big master bedroom). Just a few steps from probably the most desirable avenue in the city, it's easy to get around from here too – it runs from the heart of the city centre to the Marquês de Pombal square.

This fantastic home is located in Bairro Alto, with all of its fantastic restaurants and bars. If you fancy a bit of shopping, Chiado is a ten-minute stroll away – its streets are packed with chic boutiques, interesting bookshops and literary cafes. Take some snaps of the beautiful Lisbon Cathedral, a twenty-minute walk from this home, or explore São Jorge Castle, a twelve-minute saunter. Time Out Market, on the other hand, is just over ten minutes on foot – browse its shops and market vendors selling fresh food and flowers. You’ll also find over twenty restaurants and stylish music venues here (your host can make dinner reservations for you).
