This stylish apartment is a superb base in Porto. It’s in a wonderfully central location close to many of the city’s most popular sights, including the Sé do Porto, which you can walk to in less than thirty minutes. For further afield attractions, you can hop on the metro at Heroísmo station, a 140-metre walk away. The apartment is close to restaurants and cafes, as well as some excellent pastry shops – you’ll never be too far from your next pastel de nata. We love the simplicity of this attractive home, with its petite balcony and open-plan living and dining space. It’s a great choice for a large group.

In the heart of Porto, this contemporary apartment is a fuss-free base to call home. Our favourite feature – and yours too, we reckon – is the private balcony. Boasting views across the city, it's an excellent spot to savour a glass of port wine after sightseeing and watch the sun go down. Both bedrooms are roomy and bright, although the fifth guest will have to sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. Location-wise, you're not far from the shops on Rua de Santa Catarina or the buzz of downtown. Also nearby is Trindade Metro station for adventures further afield.

Porto Scenes

Situated on Porto's historic Rua Santa Catarina, renowned for its shopping and endless eateries, this apartment is an excellent choice for a solo traveller or a couple wanting an authentic stay in the heart of the city. 

Upon entry, you'll be struck by an abundance of natural light thanks to the arched windows, creating a bright, laidback space to relax. The home is decorated in a boho style, with wood floors, homespun furniture and subtle shades of colour. Thoughtfully designed, the mezzanine bedroom extends the space upwards, resulting in high vaulted ceilings and wooden beams overhead, making for seamless modern living. 

Away from the apartment, you're perfectly placed for taking in the history, art and culture of the surrounding area. Many of the top attractions are easily accessible on foot, including the Chapel of Souls (seven minutes), the Santo Ildefonso Church (thirteen minutes) and the Mercado do Bolhão (ten minutes). Having worked up an appetite, head to the Batalha Square for a bite to eat at one of the fantastic gastrobars or lively cafes, just thirteen minutes away, or take the twenty-minute walk down to the beautiful waterfront restaurants in Cais da Ribeira for a delicious dinner, spent watching the boats drift along the river.
