This lavish home in the upmarket neighbourhood of De Waterkant is breathtaking. Soft hues of rose and peach envelop the apartment, sweeping a sepia, dreamlike feel across this outstandingly decorated home. It's luxurious and modern, but the soft tones that run throughout the home keep it warm and comforting. But the standout features are the old stone brick walls and wood beamed ceilings, tying in a natural element to this super contemporary home. 

This home is the epitome of indoor/outdoor living, with large patio doors bringing you into the courtyard, which lies between the bedrooms and the living and kitchen area. We love how the wooden beams continue in the courtyard, which is so beautifully decorated that it barely feels like an outdoor area. Evenings spent here are particularly wonderful, enjoying candlelit meals and drinks around the outdoor dining table, before heading up to your rooftop to sip on wine and watch the city skyline sparkle against the dark. Of course, the rooftop is beautiful during the day too, with a small pool that's perfect for cooling off from the South African sun, but there's something about a skyline at night that feels extra special.

You're in the heart of De Waterkant, a vibrant neighbourhood teeming with coffee shops, art galleries, boutiques, bars, eateries, and more. It's the perfect blend between upmarket and trendy. If you enjoy hiking, venture to the Lion's Head path, which begins just opposite the apartment's entrance, so put on your hiking boots and surround yourself with the natural wonders with an excellent view of the city. Expect to snack your way through everything from biltong to Black Forest gateau while sipping fresh juices, coffee and craft beer at the Neighbourgoods Market.

The waterfront promenade is lined with shops, restaurants and lively bars – ideal for anything from a quick bite to eat to a night on the town. Fancy some hiking? Head to Table Mountain National Park, where trails for every level of hiker lead through the mountains.

Tropical Arcadia

This penthouse has a private roof terrace with incredible vistas over the city – it's the perfect spot for a barbecue lunch, followed by cocktails made at the bar. Or, later, go for a sunset dip in the communal rooftop pool – we love the vistas from here. Inside, take a seat on the huge, comfy L-shaped sofa and spend some quality time chatting with your family or friends. If you don't fancy eating out, rustle up a Cape Malay curry, open up the doors in the dining area to the balcony and enjoy your meal as a cooling breeze drifts in. 

Situated in Green Point, Cape Town, have a stroll around its namesake park with its lakes, jogging trails, and hedge maze. The park is also home to the Cape Town Stadium, which hosts sports and concert events. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to sample in the neighbourhood too.


African Sunsets

Nestled rather beautifully between the majestic Table Mountain and the glistening sea, this bohemian-style home is an idyllic base for a family or a group of friends looking for a memorable and relaxing stay in Cape Town.

You can slide open the glass door and step directly onto the vast terrace and pool area, where you’ll also find a dining table with enough sitting for eight - should you opt for an indoor feast, there's an elegant table here too. On those balmy summer nights gather everyone outside for delicious dinners and barbecues under the stars. On hot afternoons, you can easily spend hours reading and relaxing on the comfy sun loungers by the pool. 

For a night of restful sleep, you’ll have a choice of three equally plush bedrooms, although our personal favourite has to be the master with a sleek ensuite bathroom. Treat yourself to an indulgent bubble bath, before drifting off to the land of sweet dreams in the luxurious king-sized bed. 

In the morning you’ll wake up refreshed and ready for another day of exploring. Head out to find yourself in a lovely neighbourhood, close to the picturesque beaches and with easy access to the centre of Cape Town. The Beachcombers 

In the hills of Cape Town’s Camps Bay neighbourhood, this luxurious villa puts you between the hiking trails of Table Mountain and the surfer’s paradise of Camps Bay Beach. The Kasteelspoort Trail up to Table Mountain starts a twenty-minute walk away, and a four-minute drive sees you at Camps Bay Beach, lined with surf shacks, fashion boutiques, brunch spots and cocktail bars alike. 

At the home itself, you’ve got an inviting swimming pool waiting on the terrace. From here you can float in the cool water while admiring a view of the Atlantic Ocean stretching out before you.  Myriad terraces and glass-fronted balconies provide secluded spots for a sundowner on plush sofas or dining at a picnic-style table. 

Inside, it’s a sleek medley of grey, black and white with huge corner sofas big enough to fit the whole group for a chilled night in. Casual dining is on offer at the shining white kitchen island and there’s a banquet-sized table for a more formal set-up. Bedrooms are super plush and some have free-standing tubs in ensuites or perhaps direct access to a private balcony overlooking the ocean.

When you manage to peel yourself away from this premium pad, enjoy a sun-soaked stroll through the neighbouring national park. Keen hikers can enjoy steep trails up and around Table Mountain, but there are also more leisurely routes if you prefer gentler walks. The city centre is just a twelve-minute drive away, housing a collection of fascinating museums and plenty of eateries serving traditional South African cuisine.

Perched just above Camps Bay, you're going to struggle to find a home with a better location than this in Cape Town – or anywhere on the rest of the globe for that matter. Step out onto the terrace and you're greeted with a glorious view of white sands, rolling waves and the Table Mountain range in the distance.

With scenery this stunning, you can see why the architect went for floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the main living area rather than walls. This decision also means that this space is treated to bountiful amounts of natural light, making it a lovely spot in which to relax. We're huge fans of the contemporary design throughout, especially the minimalist kitchen and colourful artworks adorning the walls.

The home even has a surprise up its sleeve in the shape of the plunge pool accessed from one of the bedrooms, offering a wonderfully cooling way to deal with the South African summer months. If you're visiting during the cooler seasons, the large freestanding tub in the master bathroom steps up to the plate instead.

As you can probably guess from the panorama, it doesn't take long to reach the beach – in fact, you can be standing on the sand in no more than three minutes on foot. It also only takes five minutes to drive over to the Table Mountain National Park, in which you'll find a wealth of hiking routes and vantage points. Cape Town's City Centre is just over ten minutes away in the car, too.

Location-wise, you’re in the beachy suburb of Camps Bay, where a stretch of bone-white sand attracts surfers and sun loungers alike. It’s a twenty-five-minute walk (or four-minute drive) to myriad seafront restaurants and bars and there’s shopping galore on Victoria Road.

The home’s crowning glory, however, is its position above Camps Bay, offering incredible views of the Twelve Apostles and the Atlantic Ocean. Whether you’re soaking up the sunshine on the terrace during the day or watching the sunset as you dine alfresco at night, the views will truly captivate your every moment. 

Enjoy the vistas almost from the moment you wake up, with both bedrooms and the living space opening right onto the terrace overlooking the mountains and ocean scene.
