There’s also a relaxing chill-out area, with wicker furniture and beanbags overlooking the Mediterranean sea below. If you can tear yourself away from your home's many little luxuries, you're only a fifteen-minute walk from a sandy beach and the charming marina filled with bobbing yachts, while just outside your door, the Old Town offers up restaurants, bars and plenty of cultural attractions including the impressive Église St-Jean-Baptiste.

Here you’ll find it easy to unwind after a busy day pounding the picturesque city streets, biking, hiking or just making the most of the island’s beautiful beaches. There is also an outdoor shower, boules, and parking for up to three cars. The living/dining room is spacious and comfortable, with separate WC and access to two large balconies and a terrace with beautiful views of the sea and mountains. The open kitchen is well-equipped with modern amenities. Both bedrooms are furnished with French beds (160 cm) and en-suite bathrooms with double hand-basins; one bedroom has a shower/WC while the other has a bath/WC. The villa also offers free WiFi and air-conditioning throughout. Please note that part of the house is closed and unoccupied, and a car is recommended due to the proximity of the main road.

The villa is sunny and tranquil, with a soft colour palette that allows the view to take centre stage. The patio doors retract, merging the indoor and outdoor spaces to create that wonderful island feel. Enjoy breakfast while gazing out at the panoramic view of the bay, before taking your coffee out to one of the comfortable sofas on the terrace. Will you lie out in the sun all day, explore the area, or perhaps make the most of having your own little beach?

The fenced garden leads directly to a small sandy beach in a calm bay. The water is shallow and clear, so it’s like having your own private swimming pool. There are two stand-up paddleboards for you to use, which is a great way of exploring the coast a little further. There are plenty of beaches to explore aside from your own – why not drive seven minutes to Spiaggia dei Baracconi?

Rinse off the sand in the outdoor hot water shower, then start thinking about dinner. Maybe you’ll pop into town for some fresh seafood, or perhaps you’ll get to work in the outdoor kitchen? Fire up the barbecue for a family feast on the terrace. When the plates have been cleared, slip into the Jacuzzi to watch the sun go down.

The view is everything here. This modern villa stands in Portobello di Gallura, just 800 metres from Baia dell’Amore beach, and boasts glorious views of the coast. From here you can explore the area's hidden coves and peaceful beaches on foot, and spend your evenings drinking in the spectacular sea sunsets. You’ll have a Jacuzzi to unwind in but no pool, so this home will really only appeal to those who enjoy sea swimming and the feel of sand underfoot. The twin rooms are ideal for children. Bedding and towels aren’t included in the price but can be provided for an additional fee. 

Che Bella

Whether you’re a family or a group of friends, this villa provides a comfortable base from which to explore Sardinia’s northwest coast. While Luculumbu Beach is within walking distance, there’s not much else to do in the surrounding area, so a car is a must here. The home itself is well-appointed and the views of the Mediterranean Sea from the swimming pool speak for themselves. Just a heads up, bed linens and towels are an additional extra and will need to be booked before your arrival.

The view over the Gulf of Portisco is the kind of sight we’ve been dreaming of all winter. Picture yourself soaking up the Sardinian sun beside the lagoon-like pool or gazing out over olive trees and deep blue ocean from the veranda. Inside provides a welcome respite from the heat of the midday sun, with cool terracotta floors, traditional furniture and local handicrafts. You’re 2km away from a string of white sand beaches, as well as the Marina di Portisco with its selection of waterfront restaurants. The characterful borgo of San Pantaleo is just inland and is ideal for picking up fresh produce for an Italian style feast come the evening. You’ll want to be back home before the sun goes down though, for an aperitif with a view.

Inside the villa is crisp and modern, though you’ll have to pay for bed and bath linen (or bring your own). When you’re not at the beach, you can soak up the rays on the hiking and cycling trails of the Gallura area – it’s best to hire a car if you want to explore.

The view from this villa is simply stunning. From every angle in the garden, your eye is drawn to the Gulf of Pevero, and to the lush scenery of this Emerald Coast home. The private infinity pool and outdoor lounge are undoubtedly the stars of the show here, but the interior has plenty of appeal too. Kids will love the cinema area, and the gym is handy too. The fine white sand and turquoise waters of Porto Paglia beach are just a short distance away. You’ll need to pay extra for towels and bed linen.

Follow the path, and you'll find a chill-out zone, where you can relax with a glass of Pinot Grigio as you admire the sea views. And, there's even a sparkling swimming pool – take a dip before refueling with an alfresco meal cooked on the grill. 

If you're taking a boat with you, you can arrange to moor it at the Marina di Sa Jaga, just a short walk away. When you fancy a beach day, hop in the car and drive over to Spiaggia di Marinella for a day on the sand. And, if you're feeling adventurous, head inland to hike through the epic landscapes – there's no place quite like Sardinia.

Now that's what we call a view. Whether you're relaxing on the balcony, swimming in the pool or whipping up a feast in the kitchen, you'll be able to watch the waves rolling in the sea. Although bed linen and towels are an additional cost, each bedroom is comfortable and cosy – but, as there's only space for eight around the table, we think ten guests will be a squeeze. Location-wise, Costa Paradiso is yours to discover. Li Cossi beach is less than a five-minute drive, with restaurants, bars and seasonal shops also within striking distance.

Serene Seas

This villa is an excellent spot in which to admire the natural beauty of Sardinia. Thanks to the home's elevated position, guests get a wonderful view of the dazzling blue waters of Porto Rotondo from the upper floors. However, don't be surprised if the paradisical garden immediately below grabs your attention, too.

Out here in among the colourful flower beds and handsome granite walls, you can while away lazy afternoons paddling about in the swimming pool, catching some rays on the loungers or cooking up a storm in the outdoor kitchen (complete with a barbecue and pizza oven).

Inside, the home is spread across four floors, so while there are plenty of stairs, it feels cool and airy, thanks to the high ceilings, stark white walls and terracotta tiling underfoot. There's a discernible rustic theme to the design, from the wicker chairs and natural-themed artwork to the large rock feature in the main entrance hall.

With the nautical location, you might not be surprised to learn that there are two beaches that can be reached in just over a quarter of an hour's walk (Spiaggia dei Sassi and di Ira), while the historic city of Olbia takes a similar amount of time to reach in the car, too. Closer to home, there are a handful of restaurants, bars and discos in the local area.

In our opinion, a trip to Corsica is always a good idea. The scenery is exquisite, the food a marvel, and the beaches are something from a dream. We love this pretty stone house in the seaside resort of Moriani Plage – it’s a splendid base for a family or a group of friends. 

The house is simple and bright, with a neutral colour scheme that lends itself to relaxation. There’s plenty of room for everyone to gather together, whether it’s around the piano in the living room or in the dining room. When the sun is shining, you’ll want to be outside to enjoy every last second of it. Happily, there’s a wonderful garden here. Little ones will love playing on the lawn, while grown-ups might prefer sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine. There’s a hammock to doze in, and a barbecue for alfresco meals – we’d be buying some fresh seafood for sure. 

This home is in a quiet residential area so you’ll really be able to relax and unwind. That’s not to say that it’s a sleepy spot though – Padullela Park is across from the house, with its tennis courts and play area. Moriani Beach is a seven-minute walk from the house, and you can stroll for a gelato a couple of minutes away. If you feel like being a bit more active, you might try your hand at jet skiing or sailing. Hikers will love exploring the Costa Verde trails. There’s something for everyone here.
