Escape to the country and hunker down in this beautifully restored old English farmhouse tucked away in the Cornish countryside. Heading down the quiet lane, the Atlantic blue springs into view across the rolling fields as you pull into the driveway. Parts of the property date back to the sixteenth century, and although it’s been lovingly restored, the traditional charm still shines through in the wood burners, range oven and exposed beams. The site is equipped with a converted horse trailer turned coffee shop so you can dose up on caffeine as the kids help with feeding the farm animals. Crooklets beach, the nearest golf course and the town centre are all within a ten-minute walk, making this home a great base for exploring. While the interior is on the smaller side, it's plenty comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped for family meals. The patio and outdoor seating are ideal for quiet evenings, and the fenced garden is great for tiring out the kids.

It’s impossible not to be charmed by this wooden roundhouse in East Thorne. Its cylindrical design and delightful gardens bring a magical vibe that's sure to start off your holiday with a smile. Step inside to find a gorgeous wood-beamed ceiling and wood-burning stove in the main living space. While this hearth is the perfect setting for cosying up together on chilly evenings, there are even more activities for sunny days. Your private, outdoor area is spectacular – play games on the lawn, savour alfresco lunches on the picnic bench, grill up dinner on the barbecue, set up a campfire, and (best of all) soak in the hot tub under the stars all night.  We think a glass of champagne wouldn’t go amiss in this luxury setting. When you’ve spent enough time in the tub, head inside to lie back on the sumptuous bed and look up – find yet another stargazing spot via the ceiling porthole. This holiday home just south of Bude is a great spot to spend some quality time with the whole family. It’s only a short walk to the beach, where you can take surf lessons or go for a hike with your four-legged friend along the Atlantic coast. The house has got three ensuite bedrooms and a large family bathroom, but it’s the garden with the sea view that we like best. There are a small local shop and pub nearby and the town of Bude is but a short drive away.

Meet the farm animals or set off alongside the private Nature Reserve to discover the private shingle beach on the River Tamar. Later, take advantage of some of the farm's other surprises — a communal games room with ping-pong, a shared tennis court, a hammock hidden away in the orchard, and a basketball hoop. Built around 1825 and once a rubble ruin, the home has been completely modernised, with plenty of contemporary luxuries blending with the building's original structures. We love the extended kitchen and dining space, where beams and exposed stone walls give way to gunmetal grey patio doors and a glass ceiling.

Designed to be cosy for four but with the option of adding two children in the spacious master suite, it's a beautiful home with several standout features. As well as the modern log burner in the sitting room, there's the private garden beside the river, the high-spec kitchen, glamorous bathrooms and comfy beds.
