This immaculately decorated cottage has mastered ‘modern country’ perfectly! If you are not snuggled up in front of your Charnwood stove, with your slippers resting on the cream rug, there is a beautifully laid dining area ready for afternoon tea and a slice of cake. The decor is layered with delicate neutrals and the vast windows cast a wash of natural light over the space. Ideal for a family, the centre island makes for a perfect social space where everyone can relax together whilst dinner simmers away. To the centre of the house is the delightfully curved staircase. Upstairs, the bedrooms are generous with large luxurious throws. Beyond the cottage-style windows is a beautiful green space, where in the summer months, breakfast can be enjoyed alfresco. 

Spend your days exploring picturesque Cornwall – the beaches, the coastal paths, the delightful little cafes. There really is something for everyone and this generous little cottage has thought of everything. For those that enjoy surfing, a traditional water barrel awaits for wetsuit dipping and a charcoal barbecue is ready for when you need to refuel. In the colder months, the family can huddle around the fire with a good movie. One of our favourite touches is the large freestanding bath. If you fancy a little ‘me’ time, just pour a glass of your favourite tipple and sink down into the bubbles. You really will feel the sense of seaside serenity wash over you.

Follow the woodland path down to the local beach for sandcastle-making, picnics, and, if you time the tide right, surfing – there's a surf school with all the gear. Take a jaunt over to Padstow a twenty-minute drive away and mooch about the shops. Or just hang out back at the farm for the day. Kids will love feeding the chickens and the resident pony. There are many marvellous things about this wood-panelled cottage, but its unique location at Mawgan Porth has to be the highlight. It's set right on the sand, with a private path bringing you down to the shoreline – meaning you can dip your toes in the sea within seconds of closing the door. The outdoor deck has a hot tub, where you can watch the sun go down with a glass of wine, along with a free-standing bath tub and dining area, for alfresco meals with a view of the Cornish coast. Inside, large windows usher in loads of sunlight, and a fireplace brings warmth on those cooler evenings. The unique bedrooms feature plush beds with ornate headboards, as well as one delightful four-poster bed fitted with sumptuous white curtains. Take a short drive to sample Padstow's famous seafood restaurants, admire the Bedruthan cliffs or enrol in surf school at Watergate Bay – there's something for everyone in this charming spot in North Cornwall.

Spend idyllic days in the Cornish countryside when you stay at this recently converted barn, situated a twelve-minute drive from beautiful Padstow. Enjoy long walks on the South West Coast Path – the cliff tops at Park Head offer incredible views across to the sea stacks at Bedruthan Steps (a ten-minute ride away). Back at this wonderful barn – it's perfect for a family or a group of friends looking for a tranquil retreat. Inside, we were blown away by the rustic charm mixed with elegant modernism. We love the Delabole slate bathrooms, exposed stone walls and vaulted beams throughout this home. In fact, this place has been designed with socialising and entertaining in mind – it's a great space to spend quality time together. On chillier days, curl up in front of the cosy wood-burning stoves in the living room or den and settle in for an evening of board games with the family. There are four acres of grounds to explore here, including orchards and wildflower meadows. There's even an outdoor shower, so you can rinse off after visiting the beach – your lovely hosts have really thought of everything here.  Our favourite spot in the garden has to be the magical summerhouse – savour the spectacular views that stretch to the Atlantic Ocean or recline on the day bed and read a book. It's just one of the many fantastic features that make this home so very special.

Idyllic locations such as Padstow and St Ives can be reached in less than an hour, and the famed Eden Project is just a forty-five minute drive away.
 
On the other hand, Holywell Bay has one of the most beautiful beaches in the county. You’ll be pleased to know it's only a five-minute walk from your door, where alongside stunning scenery, you’ll find a gorgeous coastal path, and a handful of charming beachside cafes and eateries. Refuel on local produce at the Gull Rocks Bar & Coffee House at the beach’s entrance after an afternoon spent splashing about, and take in the stunning vistas afforded by its prime location. The Treguth Inn, hailing back to the thirteenth century also awaits just five minutes away, while several more traditional pubs and desirable restaurants can be found within a fifteen-minute drive. The choice is all yours. 

A short twenty-minute drive away is the Gannel Estuary, which separates neighbouring Crantock village from Newquay. Have a go at canoeing in the estuary, or try your hand at paddle-boarding over in Crantock. On quieter days, why not go for fish and chips followed by some ice cream in idyllic fishing villages such as Mevagissey, Mousehole or Gorran Haven, all within an hour's drive? Whatever you choose to do, you won't be short of fun.
  
Of course, such is the high-quality amenities, you don't even need to leave the house. An open living area is blessed with natural light and plenty of space, perfect for social evenings. Chill on the sofas, sit with a glass of beer on the kitchen bar or take to the circular table for dinner. The master has a fabulous bay window and its stylish en-suite is open to the room to make the most of its light, while the main bathroom features a freestanding bathtub to soak in after a day on the nearby beach. The sea is less than a mile away and there are both surf schools and board hire shops if you fancy hitting the waves. Less sporty guests will appreciate the array of restaurants in the town centre, and of course, there's nowhere better for evening drinks than on your own balcony.

Looking for a contemporary Cornwall retreat with a view? Then this high-tech showstopper of a home, perched just moments from sandy Mawgan Porth beach in an exclusive development fringing Newquay, should suit you to a tee.

Sunny mornings call for lazy coffees on that south-facing balcony leading off from the open concept living space to catch a glimpse of the sea. Meanwhile, little ones and furry friends can run off some energy on the lawns below, all under your watchful gaze. 

When the sea finally lures you in, spend your days exploring the awesome coastal path that leads to Newquay, Padstow and beyond (it goes right past here) or learning to surf down at the beach – it’s just 150 metres from your door. And you can easily wash down sandy surfing paraphernalia and paws with that hot après-surf shower when you head home.

Then all that’s left to do is fire up the barbecue (make sure to pick up some locally caught seafood) and spill out onto the alfresco sofa area with sundowners – the views of the surrounding valleys are magnificent. Then keep the night flowing around the firepit or head back indoors to hunker down for a cosy film night – there’s a swish cinema projector ready to roll.

A big family home in the ever-popular town of Padstow, this place has plenty of wow factors – from rare private parking to stunning views across the River Camel estuary. Set on a slope, its three floors make the most of its position with views getting better and better at the top of the house. Inside, it's a tasteful blend of period features and contemporary styling, with a subtle nod towards its coastal location in its palette of whites, greys and blues. The Edwardian home has been thoroughly updated to provide a perfect spot for a large family getaway. There are two living rooms to choose from (one for the youngsters to hang out in, perhaps?) and a big kitchen diner with an Aga and everything you'll need to cook on night's in. We particularly love the big bedroom on the top floor, with its panoramic estuary views all the way across to Rock, and the semi-covered patio at the back where you can barbecue on sunny afternoons. The garden goes up in steps from the house, finally reaching a raised deck with a dining table and chairs – the ideal place to enjoy the sunshine and that famous view. Just minutes away on foot, Padstow's beautiful harbour and legendary dining scene offer all sorts of options, and it's just a short hike along the coast to the nearest beach. Or catch the foot ferry and paddle in the clear waters at Rock.

With the Gannel estuary, rugged coastal paths and the craggy Pentire Penninsula on your doorstep, this home is awash with a low-key, British seaside atmosphere. The buzz of Newquay beckons – stroll fifteen minutes or drive into town for fresh seafood restaurants, cosy pubs serving classic Cornish fare and independent boutiques, or wander ten minutes to Fistral Beach and sprawl out on the sand. Surfing, rock pooling, fishing, kayaking – the list of outdoor activities here are endless. But if downtime calls, this roomy, open-plan home is brimming with natural light and comfy places to unwind. Dine alfresco on the private balcony, watching the waves roll in as the sun goes down, or catch up on family time with movie night. When it's time for some shut-eye, open the windows and fall asleep with the fresh sea breeze drifting through the bedrooms. There's no shortage of mod-cons here either, including an Xbox One, a delightful gas range cooker and outdoor surfboard storage. Whether you want to hang ten or just hang out, this home has it all.

Tucked away in the charming streets of Padstow, this laid-back cottage blends a youthful personality with rustic roots. That's why wooden beams, flagstone floors and crates repurposed as tables rub shoulders with industrial-chic lighting, comfy furnishings in bold colours and dazzlingly white bathrooms complete with rainfall showers. 

After a long day by the seaside, put your feet up in front of the log burner with a good book and a glass of wine in hand. We also liked the large blue kitchen, where you can cook up a storm when you're feeling peckish – the pendant lights hanging above the island are actually made from old kilner jars – as well as the bedrooms with their antique French beds, which will add a sense of occasion to your nightly routine. 

Although the local neighbourhood feels residential, the town's lively harbour and the surrounding cafes, gourmet restaurants and seaside pubs can be reached in under five minutes on foot. There's no shortage of beautiful beaches in North Cornwall either, with St George’s Cove a twenty-minute trek along the South West Coast Path and Hawker's Cove an eleven-minute drive away. All in all, it's a great place to call home on your Cornish getaway.

Woodbine Cottage

This seaside cottage is located a few streets back from the sea; but as it’s situated atop a hill, it still boasts wonderful ocean views. Take in these panoramic vistas from the master bedroom or walk on down to the beach to experience it all in person – just a three-minute stroll away. 

The private balcony is idyllically set up for a glass of wine as the sun sets in the balmy sky come evening time. With four bedrooms for eight guests, this coastal getaway is ideal for an extended family. The back garden contains plenty of isolated seating spaces, perfect for a summer barbecue, dining alfresco or simply soaking in the sun. 

The inside is also spacious, with a large open-plan kitchen and dining room and a piano in the entrance hall. We especially love the conservatory; where you can enjoy the sunshine without stepping outdoors. However, we’d recommend making a beeline for Newquay’s celebrated Lusty Glaze Beach and the abundance of surfboards, wet suits and bodyboards that are available to rent. With food and drink options aplenty, a day on the beach simply isn't complete without cornish ice cream in the afternoon or a good old fashioned fish and chips come dinnertime.

Situated a ten-minute walk from Fistral Beach and Newquay Golf Club, this comfortable apartment is a fabulous seaside escape for a family or couple of friends who like to spend their time outdoors. Inside, an open-plan living space with a tropically sweet pink and green colour scheme opens up onto a private balcony, where you can sit out with indulgent cream tea and watch fishing boats slip over the horizon. A clever kitchen makes light work of whipping up culinary favourites, but if you’d prefer to eat out, there’s a fine selection of restaurants a fifteen-minute walk from your doorstep. Once you’re fuelled and raring to go, scamper down to the waterfront to carve through crashing waves or relax on golden sands. Head home at the end of a windswept day, tuck away your surfboard in the storage provided and fall back into comfortable beds for a night of sweet dreams.
