The home has a dreamy country kitchen with a breakfast island for cooking, socialising and eating together. After preparing a family feast with the produce you picked up from the local farm shop,  head to the formal dining room, where you can savour your culinary achievements in an elevated setting. There are plenty more communal areas for family and friends to gather too – including the cosy TV room and formal sitting room, complete with crackling fires – perfect for colder nights. 

Stepping outside, you'll find a gorgeous shared garden that includes a dining table as well as a barbecue area. This holiday home just south of Bude is a great spot to spend some quality time with the whole family. It’s only a short walk to the beach, where you can take surf lessons or go for a hike with your four-legged friend along the Atlantic coast. The house has got three ensuite bedrooms and a large family bathroom, but it’s the garden with the sea view that we like best. There are a small local shop and pub nearby and the town of Bude is but a short drive away.

Set just outside the surfing hotspot of Bude, this wooden roundhouse offers the excitement of camping with all the creature comforts of home. Spend sun-kissed summer afternoons tucking into relaxed lunches on the picnic bench and treating yourself to dips in the hot tub, equipped with a metal privacy screen so you can soak in peace.

Inside, the unique roundhouse design comes to the fore, with a well-equipped kitchen gently curving around the wall, a rustic round dining table, and a double bed set beneath a shining porthole skylight. Elsewhere, the roundhouse is equipped with one further bedroom and a sleek bathroom with a vast walk-in shower.

The site is equipped with a converted horse trailer turned coffee shop so you can dose up on caffeine as the kids help with feeding the farm animals. Your hosts are blessed with over a decade's worth of local knowledge and are more than happy to share their favourite local haunts with guests, so whether you're after a local butcher to stock up for a barbecue, a bougie brunch spot, or a great local pub, they've got you covered.

Crooklets beach, the nearest golf course and the town centre are all within a ten-minute walk, making this home a great base for exploring. While the interior is on the smaller side, it's plenty comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped for family meals. The patio and outdoor seating are ideal for quiet evenings, and the fenced garden is great for tiring out the kids.

With an enviable clifftop location on the coast of northern Cornwall, this pet-friendly beach house offers great views of the Atlantic Ocean. Sitting outside in the morning sun of the east-facing courtyard makes you appreciate the old rugged stone façade, especially compared to the sleek and cosy interior. In the colder months, you'll be spending more time in the sitting room, surrounded by books and a large flat-screen TV with Technics cinema sound for an immersive experience. From here, the French doors open up to a cosy spot for two where you can admire the sunrise and plan your day. The nearest wild beach is well within walking distance, but the headline attraction is up the road in Bude. If you're up for some sightseeing, take the car down to Tintagel to see the ruins of King Arthur's mythical castle.

If you love the thought of drifting to sleep while gazing up at the stars, this dreamy cabin could be the holiday home for you. The cabin is tucked away in a lush garden in a romantic setting that will make you instantly forget any of the worries of day-to-day life. It’s a studio-style cabin with one wall entirely made of glass, blending the interior and exterior. A skylight above the bed means you’ll go to sleep each night staring straight up at the stars. 

The cabin is based just outside of Launceston in Cornwall, close to the border of Devon. It’s brilliantly located for outdoorsy adventures, whether you’re keen on surfing or prefer to explore the countryside on foot. Dartmoor National Park is twenty-seven minutes away by car, with its wealth of wonderful hikes and cycling trails. You might take a day-trip to St Isaac to paddle in the sea and eat fish and chips and ice cream at the shore – it takes forty-three minutes to drive there, and it’s well worth the trip. 

After a day of exploring Cornwall and its gems, you can look forward to sipping wine on the terrace. Perhaps you’ll cook dinner on the barbecue before enjoying a relaxing bubble bath in the beautiful copper tub. Or to take the romance to the next level, you might soak in the hot tub under the stars. This is one for the ramblers and the folk that love the great outdoors. The former barn has been turned into a country bolthole in the rolling landscape of Cornwall. Lace up your hiking boots and hit the South West Coastal Trail at Crackington Haven, a twelve-minute drive away. This stretch of coastline is home to secret sandy bays and stunning sea views from the tops of cliffs. 

From the windows inside, you’ve got a view of the verdant green fields and tumbling hills that make up this peaceful area. The old walls of the barn are on display in patches of exposed stonework amidst the otherwise pristine white walls. In the open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, the L-shaped sofa creates a snuggly nook for cosy evenings in. Should the weather stay fine, there’s a flower-filled private garden with a barbecue and patio dining to make the most of the Cornish sun.

There's not a deckchair stripe in sight. Instead, you're treated to sculptural driftwood lamps, moody seascape paintings, and a sophisticated palette of deep blues and grey tones that reflect the British weather more accurately than the usual sunshine yellow. If you can bear to leave the home, there are plenty of shops, restaurants and places of interest in the immediate vicinity. Fowey is a beautiful harbourside town with public events occurring throughout the year. The local community is a healthy mix of all ages who are warm and friendly and adept at making newcomers feel welcome.

And you'll get the personal touch too, as host Deborah and her family love to greet every guest on arrival. Style-wise, this home is equal parts classy and edgy; velvet upholstery and faux-fur throws contrast with neon signs and curious light fixtures in the bedrooms.
