Found in the quaint Cornish village of Trevone, this home is the key to unlocking the stretch of coast between the more popular options of Newquay and Polzeath. Start off at Trevone Bay and work your way towards Harlyn Bay Beach, Treyarnon Bay and Pentire Steps Beach without driving more than twenty minutes out. Be sure to stop off at the beautiful Trevose Head Lighthouse along the way. 

Reflecting the beauty of its coastal surroundings, the inside of the home has a calm sense about it. Soft blues, crisp whites and wooden elements make the vibrant colours of the dining set pop, adding a quirky touch to an otherwise sophisticated space. Sit around the table to eat or take your meals outside for an alfresco experience around the picnic-style bench. 

Bookworms will delight in the little library on offer here – select whatever draws you in most and curl up on the sofa next to the wood-burning stove to read whilst nursing a freshly brewed coffee from the cafetiere. 

The conservatory makes for a great social space, so gather together after dinner to enjoy a bottle, or two, of wine before taking a soak in the tub before doing it all again the next day.

Tucked away in the charming streets of Padstow, this laid-back cottage blends a youthful personality with rustic roots. That's why wooden beams, flagstone floors and crates repurposed as tables rub shoulders with industrial-chic lighting, comfy furnishings in bold colours and dazzlingly white bathrooms complete with rainfall showers. 

After a long day by the seaside, put your feet up in front of the log burner with a good book and a glass of wine in hand. We also liked the large blue kitchen, where you can cook up a storm when you're feeling peckish – the pendant lights hanging above the island are actually made from old kilner jars – as well as the bedrooms with their antique French beds, which will add a sense of occasion to your nightly routine. 

Although the local neighbourhood feels residential, the town's lively harbour and the surrounding cafes, gourmet restaurants and seaside pubs can be reached in under five minutes on foot. There's no shortage of beautiful beaches in North Cornwall either, with St George’s Cove a twenty-minute trek along the South West Coast Path and Hawker's Cove an eleven-minute drive away. All in all, it's a great place to call home on your Cornish getaway.

The house is just a seven-minute walk from the centre of Padstow and its pretty, characterful harbour. Perhaps you’ll stroll into town first thing for breakfast in one of the many cafes and restaurants, before making your way to the beach. Lower Beach is our favourite, and it’s just an eighteen-minute walk from the house. Take along your bucket and spade and make memories in this most picturesque part of the UK. 

When you make your way back to the house, sun-kissed and sandy, fire up the barbecue. Spend your evening in the garden, admiring the views of the Camel Estuary and watching the sun slowly set. The garden is the jewel in the crown of this lovely home, with comfortable seating and bi-folding doors than can be opened wide to give the living space a holiday feel.

Arriving at Slates By The Shore, you might not be expecting the good-looking cottage that awaits behind the front door. You'll be struck by its swanky style, a mix of authentic stone walls and flooring with the centrepiece of a modern spiral staircase. Put your feet to good use and explore the town of Padstow and, venturing further, take to the Camel Trail, an eighteen-mile hiking (or cycling) trail that takes you through glorious coastal scenery. Back in Padstow, speedboat rides, cobbled souvenir shops, and a good old serving of fish and chips await.

The first thing to mention with this home has to be the marvellous location. Not only is it in the middle of one of Cornwall's prettiest villages, but it also has a superb view of the River Camel from the front garden. Here, it's possible to sit at the table eating a dinner fresh off the barbecue and watch the boats bobbing about in the water.

It seems that the interior designer was all too aware of this stunning scenery, as many of the windows have had their ledges converted into seating so you can take a perch with a book. All throughout, the decor is heavy on soothing neutrals and nautical-themed artwork, while the sleek white kitchen is contemporarily styled. The presence of a log burner is also sure to be appreciated after a day of swimming in the sea.

Rock Beach sits just below the home, with Daymer Bay Beach a thirty minute coastal walk from here, and Polzeath a further thirty minutes also. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants close to the home, as well as a sailing club. If you want to explore more of Cornwall, the passenger ferry to Padstow leaves from Rock just a few minutes walk from the home.

This wonderful Canadian-style lodge offers the best of both worlds for adventurous visitors. With easy access to both Cornwall's dramatic coastline and the rolling countryside, it's a wonderful place to embrace the great outdoors in style.

The spacious log cabin has plenty of room for up to eight guests, meaning everyone can put their feet up to enjoy some peace and quiet. The wood-panelled walls create a cosy ambience, and you'll love spending your evenings around the rustic table, sharing some tales of your excursions. Or, if the sun is shining, you can head out onto the balcony and breathe in the fresh air as you sip a tipple and enjoy the view. 

Walkers and cyclists are in the perfect position to start exploring – simply lace up your boots or hop on your bike and away you go. A short drive will bring you to the sea, where you can discover long, sandy beaches and hidden coves. Surfers can head to Harlyn Bay Beach to catch some waves, while golfers can take a short drive over to the local course to tee off.

A big family home in the ever-popular town of Padstow, this place has plenty of wow factors – from rare private parking to stunning views across the River Camel estuary. Set on a slope, its three floors make the most of its position with views getting better and better at the top of the house. Inside, it's a tasteful blend of period features and contemporary styling, with a subtle nod towards its coastal location in its palette of whites, greys and blues. The Edwardian home has been thoroughly updated to provide a perfect spot for a large family getaway. There are two living rooms to choose from (one for the youngsters to hang out in, perhaps?) and a big kitchen diner with an Aga and everything you'll need to cook on night's in. We particularly love the big bedroom on the top floor, with its panoramic estuary views all the way across to Rock, and the semi-covered patio at the back where you can barbecue on sunny afternoons. The garden goes up in steps from the house, finally reaching a raised deck with a dining table and chairs – the ideal place to enjoy the sunshine and that famous view. Just minutes away on foot, Padstow's beautiful harbour and legendary dining scene offer all sorts of options, and it's just a short hike along the coast to the nearest beach. Or catch the foot ferry and paddle in the clear waters at Rock.

An 18th-century building carefully restored to its original plan, it expertly showcases the building’s past through the use of exposed Cornish slated walls, original beams, restored feature fireplaces, and other raw materials that combine in a perfect mix of old and new.  

Formerly a listed Manor House, Courthouse, and Mill, the building is filled with a sense of history as well as its own unique character and sense of place. Lounge in the luxurious living spaces or enjoy a special meal together with your loved ones in the grand dining room that's flooded with that inimitable Cornish coastal light. The fantastically well-equipped kitchen means there has never been a better time to dust off the old chef's apron and put your culinary skills to the test. Chances are, you'll want to spend all your time here appreciating it – your host has thought of everything, making this the perfect place for family holidays and celebrations alike. From the cedar hot tub to the outside seating for twenty, two fire pits, a live-in house manager, an incredible gym and your very own boat mooring – you'll want for nothing. We wouldn't blame you for staying put, but if you do want to venture out, you won't be short of things to do. In the summertime, why not try a spot of kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding? Spend idyllic days in the Cornish countryside when you stay at this recently converted barn, situated a twelve-minute drive from beautiful Padstow. Enjoy long walks on the South West Coast Path – the cliff tops at Park Head offer incredible views across to the sea stacks at Bedruthan Steps (a ten-minute ride away). Back at this wonderful barn – it's perfect for a family or a group of friends looking for a tranquil retreat. Inside, we were blown away by the rustic charm mixed with elegant modernism. We love the Delabole slate bathrooms, exposed stone walls and vaulted beams throughout this home. In fact, this place has been designed with socialising and entertaining in mind – it's a great space to spend quality time together. On chillier days, curl up in front of the cosy wood-burning stoves in the living room or den and settle in for an evening of board games with the family. There are four acres of grounds to explore here, including orchards and wildflower meadows. There's even an outdoor shower, so you can rinse off after visiting the beach – your lovely hosts have really thought of everything here.  Our favourite spot in the garden has to be the magical summerhouse – savour the spectacular views that stretch to the Atlantic Ocean or recline on the day bed and read a book. It's just one of the many fantastic features that make this home so very special.

Padstow is one of Cornwall's most famous towns, and this home is in the perfect position for exploring it. A five-minute walk away from the harbour, the home is the right size for a family or small group of friends planning to decamp to this sought-after postcode. In warmer months, the house's two terraces have got 'alfresco drinks' written all over them – indulge in some people-watching from the front patio, or soak up the rays in the south-facing back garden. The fenced-in garden also has a barbecue for cooking up a feast, though the kitchen has plenty of equipment if the weather isn't playing ball. Wooden floorboards and old fireplaces hint at the home's history, with cosy touches such as deep sofas and throws in the lounge for keeping warm come the evening. You could spend days admiring the boats floating in the harbour and eating freshly-caught seafood in the local restaurants, and there are also plenty of coastal walks and sandy beaches to explore close by. This is seaside living at its very best.

Mawgan Porth beach is a leisurely twenty-minute stroll from the home – on your way back why not enjoy a trip to the village pub? For the adrenaline fans among you, try your hand at cycling, hiking, wild swimming or kayaking in the local area.

This home is a mere 10-minute walk to Portcothan Bay; one of those mythical English beaches with golden sand, surfing, and watersports. Nearby Padstow, a 15-minute drive away, is famous for its local food and restaurants, including Rick Stein's Cafe and Paul Ainsworth at No.6. The Trevose Country Club will satiate your resident golfer (and also houses a spa), and there are several National Trust hotspots around, such as the Bedruthan Steps; a coastline walk you won't forget. What's more, even during bad weather, there's plenty to do. Cosy up by the novel wood burner after a country walk or throw the glass doors open and eat and drink on the patio on a warm balmy night. The open-plan living and dining space is ideal for a larger group, and the kitchen is kitted out for cooking at home and a seamless night in enjoying the warm, rustic aesthetic.

Now, you can have your own Cornish romance in this charming cottage, a fifteen-minute walk from Padstow. Glorious sandy beaches surround this town, and it's known for fishing and the high-end restaurants of celebrity chefs Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth too.

Back at this home, whip up a Cornish cream tea in the modern kitchen with its metro tiles and breakfast bar and enjoy it at one of two outdoor tables (at the front or back) – our favourite is the front garden with its lawn and drystone wall. This lovely cottage is the perfect retreat for two.

Sitting close to the point where the River Camel meets the Celtic Sea, there are many a reason to pay a visit to Padstow and whatever it is that brings you to this charming fishing town, this home offers a reliable place to rest your head at night.

There's a refreshing simplicity to the design, with no risks taken with the white walls, smart wooden floors and mid-century-inspired furnishings. However, it all feels contemporary enough and is a suitably relaxing space to return to after outdoor expeditions. The dining room next to the glass door has a bright and airy ambience, but if the weather's on your side, you can opt instead to gather together in the hydrangea-filled garden.

When you want to see a little more of the locale, Padstow Harbour is only a quarter of an hour's walk away and there's a wide choice of seafood restaurants to be discovered nearby, too. This being Cornwall, you can rest assured that there are some beautiful beaches close by, too – Trevone Bay is just over five minutes' drive away, for instance.

This is the sort of holiday home in which cherished memories are made. Located just ten minutes' walk from both Polzeath Beach and Daymer Bay Beach, there are plenty of ways to enjoy bursts of sunny weather in the local area, or without leaving the home at all. Out in the garden, for instance, there's an enclosed lawn complete with an alfresco table and a charcoal barbecue.

If the sun disappears behind the clouds at any point, you can take a seat in the conservatory and wait for it to reappear or — if the temperature really dips — play some board games in front of the log burner fire in the living room. Alternatively, the pastel blue kitchen and island is ready and waiting for when you want to cook up a feast.

Aside from the seaside, the South West Coast Path can be joined in twenty-five minutes' walk and Bodmin Moor sits half an hour's drive away. It's also a thirty minute walk along the beach to boating, shops and eateries in Rock and the ferry to Padstow. There's a renowned gastropub three minutes' walk down the road, and the 4-star St Moritz Hotel and Spa is around the corner should you fancy a spot of pampering.

You couldn't ask for a better location for this seaside eco-lodge retreat. Nestled within peaceful farmlands, you'll find five of north Cornwall's most popular sandy beaches within five miles of your door –⁠ starting with Mawgan Porth, just a twenty-minute stroll away.

Follow the woodland path down to the local beach for sandcastle-making, picnics, and, if you time the tide right, surfing – there's a surf school with all the gear. Take a jaunt over to Padstow a twenty-minute drive away and mooch about the shops. Or just hang out back at the farm for the day. Kids will love feeding the chickens and the resident pony. At nightfall, cuddle up under the night sky and catch a shooting star. Located within the Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps dark sky area, stargazing doesn't get much better.

When it's finally time to retreat indoors, the lofty gabled roof, floor-to-ceiling windows, and pristine interiors make quite the first impression. Cuddle up beside the wood burner fire for movie nights – the underfloor heating powered by renewal energy keeps things toasty. 

Porthcothan Cottage

When browsing for holiday lets, one often has to sacrifice living space for proximity to attractions. Not with this three-bed, six-person apartment in the well-known Cornish fishing town of Padstow. Just a minute’s walk from the harbour, and Rick Stein’s world famous fish and chips, it also has generous living rooms, a large patio garden and ample parking. Other highlights include a spa bath, 65” smart TV with Bluetooth speakers and modern furniture which gives the whole space a fresh, clean feel. Take a short foot ferry across to Rock for great beaches and more great seafood restaurants - or bring the catch of the day home for home-cooking.

Just half a mile to the beach and surrounded by traditional British pubs, gourmet restaurants and shops, everything is well within reach here. Awarded a stunning face-lift by a restoration project early in 2018, the modern interiors come as a pleasant surprise. Stepping into the living room you'll notice many of the home's original features from the intricate fireplace, high ceilings and wooden flooring – but move into the kitchen and be struck by the sleek white cooking island, pristine tiled flooring and the sociable open-plan layout. From the dramatic spotlighting to a glass-topped dining table, this home will have you relaxing in style. Outside, the spot's pretty terrace calls out for alfresco drinks in the sunshine. In warmer months, fire up the barbecue and wait for the meat to sizzle with a nice glass of wine in the fresh ocean air. On chillier evenings, stroll into town for pub grub and sundown walks along the seafront.

Tucked among the coastal lanes in Padstow, this family home has oodles of charm. As far as locations go, you're just a five-minute walk from the harbour, independent shops, pubs and restaurants in town. Rent a bike and cycle down the Camel Trail (a five-minute walk away), splash in the sea at St. George's Cove (twenty minutes on foot) or just admire the views from the riverfront – whatever you get up to, you’re sure to make the most out of your Cornish getaway.

Cornwall’s holidaymakers tend to focus solely on the beaches, but there’s plenty more to explore in this stunning part of the country. Issey’s Blue, nestled in the tiny hamlet of Tregonce is the perfect place to discover Cornwall’s unspoiled countryside -- several popular walking and biking trails pass close to this rural home, meaning there’s no excuse not to get out and stretch your legs in the coastal sunshine. And those who don’t consider a getaway a real holiday without a glimpse of the sea, you can see the golden sands of the Camel Estuary from the upstairs window. Though if the weather doesn’t buck up, the vistas are just as dramatic sat around the dining table inside. When you’re ready to soak up the Cornish bustle, beloved Padstow is just four miles west. But be prepared to drive along a one-mile-long private narrow road first –⁠ all part of the adventure, we say.

The village of Trevone itself has a thriving community, who loves to welcome visitors. During summer, there are plenty of Fetes and activities to get involved in. You can reach the village in under ten minutes by foot, where you’ll find a cosy pub, farm shops, and cafes. Cornish living at its finest. 

A stay here isn’t complete without visiting the quaint fishing town of Padstow. Surrounded by glorious sandy beaches, simply strolling these charming streets and tucking into some fish and chips is a great way to spend the day. Or, there are plenty of boats to take you out to spot marine life around the harbour or just whizz you away on a speedboat. If you want to see more of Cornwall, a regular ferry takes visitors over to Rock, where you can stroll around Polzeath and Daymer Bay. You could also rent bikes from the harbour and head out further inland. After all that exploring, you’re bound to be hungry. If you’re a foodie, you’re in luck. Padstow is home to some of Cornwall’s best and most loved restaurants, including Rick Stein’s famous seafood restaurant and Paul Ainsworth’s No 6.
