In every direction of your doorstep, you'll discover winding streets dotted with inviting cafes and boutiques, as well as the historic Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta. If you're feeling adventurous, why not lace up your hiking boots and trail along the Sentiero degli Dei? 

Come on into this coastal-coloured home, where the bold splashes of blue bring the waterside ambiance indoors. Wander into the kitchen and prepare an Italian breakfast, then plan out your itinerary at this intimate dining table for two. If you want to feel that sea breeze in the morning, simply walk out on your sun-soaked terrace and enjoy the bird's eye view. We think that this is the perfect spot for unwinding in the hot tub after sightseeing, and watching a romantic sunset with your partner as you sample some local limoncello.

There's something rather magical about the view from this apartment nestled within a private park in Positano – ruggedly beautiful cliffsides peppered with dwellings part to reveal a burst of gloriously blue Tyrrhenian Sea and the uninterrupted skyline beyond. It makes for a charming backdrop while you soak up the sunshine or enjoy alfresco meals on the terrace.

Although the apartment itself lies on the smaller side of things, we're quite fond of the bright and contemporary design, particularly the sleek white galley kitchen and the fetching patterned tiling underfoot in the bedrooms. It's a home that's been owned by the same family for more than three decades, but you can certainly tell that it's received plenty of attention in recent years.

The local town of Positano itself isn't large, so most of the attractions are easily reachable on foot, including the golden sands of Spiaggia Grande Positano only 400 metres from the front door. In the wider area, those fond of a hike will appreciate the hilly terrain and walking routes found throughout the Amalfi Coast.

In the sun-soaked village of Positano, this studio apartment is a peaceful idyll within walking distance of the lively shores of Positano Beach. Inside, it’s all crisp white and cobalt blue. Unwind on the loveseat with a cappuccino, basking in a salty breeze that drifts through the Juliet balcony doors. Put together a Caprese salad at the kitchenette then tuck in at the dining table. When you’re ready to explore, slather on your sunscreen and take a gentle stroll through the pastel-hued streets. 

Pick up trinkets in artisanal shops or laze in a seaside cafe. If your itinerary allows for it, take a trip over to charming Montepertuso and embark on one of many hiking routes. Return home in the early evening to watch dusk fall over the shambling rooftops with a tot of limoncello in hand. And when it’s time to get some sleep, the comfortable double bed tempts an early night.

There are heaters on the largest terrace so you can continue to enjoy the Amalfi Coast views even if it turns chilly. The villa is filled with antiques and period paintings, with multiple dining and seating spaces – this home is ideal for large groups. The centre of Positano is a ten-minute walk away, and you can easily drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ravello. We’d also be tempted to hop on a boat trip to Capri.

Enjoy a serene stay at this small but perfectly formed home, located in the heart of Positano, close to many fabulous restaurants and bars that make this coastal village so sought-after with travellers. This home’s crown jewel is in its marvellous large terrace, providing a stunning view out across the ocean, as well as plenty of places to relax in the sun and the shade – the swinging egg chair makes for a great place to sit with a good book, while the covered lounge area is fantastic for having a drink together and watching the sunset. There’s also sun loungers so you can work on your tan.

Inside, you’ll find a gorgeous blue and white colour scheme throughout to remind you of the sea, as well as little decor touches that make it feel like home. We love the country kitchen style dining table, ideal for feasting on tasty salads and pasta dishes – and the sofa and TV provide a nice place to chill out when you need a break from the sunshine.

Ready to venture out? You’ll find plenty to do right on your doorstep – you can enjoy wandering along idyllic winding paths and discovering quaint cafes and vibrant drinking spots – plus the metro station is just a stone’s throw away so you can travel beyond with ease if you choose to.

And that's before we've drawn your attention to its sea views and balcony terrace. It's worth bearing in mind that the jacuzzi only holds four guests at a time, however, with four spaces around the alfresco dining area – the group can spread out across different parts of the balcony to enjoy the views at the same time. The open-plan main living area is equally as sociable and provides the perfect set-up for cooking up an Italian feast in the kitchen.

Positano is one of the most beautiful towns to be found along the Amalfi Coast and if you don't believe us, stepping out onto the balcony of this hillside home and gazing out at the gorgeous view of the locale below and the Tyrrhenian Sea stretching on into the distance will change your mind.

As well as this impressive outdoor space, you might just find that you're charmed by the living quarters as well. There's something about the whitewashed walls and patterned tiling that's instantly bright and welcoming, as is the addition of a few pieces of nautically-inspired artwork and quirky decorative items. The kitchen might not be the largest, but there's enough space for whipping up modest meals and the coastal view out through the window will please those on cooking duties.

When it comes to making some holiday memories, both Grande and Fornillo beaches are 650 metres from the home, and there's a good selection of restaurants even closer. In the wider area, you'll find mountains to hike along with some truly breathtaking views to act as a reward.
