Found in the west of Praiano where it lies about twenty minutes away from the bright orange umbrellas of One Fire Beach, this villa has a magnificent view out over the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Climb the steps up towards the villa and find a modern and comfortable home that boasts plenty of natural light, a crisp colour palette, and a beautiful collection of carefully selected tiles for a bit of a colour pop. There’s also a boho feel thanks to the warm, woody furniture and ample windows that keep that connection to the outdoors firmly in place. 

Go from your bedroom into the garden in moments as you escape through the doors – if you’re on the first floor, you’ll have an entire balcony to yourself and we recommend waking up before dawn, at least once, so you can watch the sunset from up there. While the tower is more simply furnished than the main house, it gives those staying there privacy. Breakfast is included here for your entire stay, so you can enjoy a leisurely start to the day before relaxing by the pool or sightseeing. And with the popular towns of Positano and Amalfi within easy driving distance, there’s lots to see and do.

With absolutely breathtaking views of the Amalfi coast, this home will give you the feeling of being perched high above the world where time is only a construct and the days bend to your will. Let your eyes roam the steeple of the famous church of San Gennaro, tracking the horizon over parts of Capri and Positano as you sit back on the balcony with a glass of Aglianico. 

Take your time familiarising yourself with the stone arches and traditional terracotta tiles of the home as you feel them between toes and fingertips. With various sets of doors leading out onto the balcony – our favourite being the exit from the kitchen where you can breathe in seasalt air as you put an antipasto platter together – you’ll find the space amply lit and fresh. Spend lazy days taking the steps down to the rocky, One Fire Beach or sitting in a bar nearby. Perched on a hill above the famous church of San Gennaro on a walkway known as the 'Path of the Gods' the apartment overlooks the pretty town of Praiano, with views of Positano and the glamourous island of Capri in the distance. The centre of Praiano (one of those towns emblematic of this region that clings implausibly to hillsides plunging dramatically into the deep blue waters below) is reachable by means of a set of around 60 stairs, at a distance of around 200 metres. There, not only will you find bags of typical Italian charm, but a wealth of lovely cafés where you can watch the world go by with an aromatic cup of energising espresso, authentic trattoria serving out-of-this-world pasta, seafood, and meat dishes accompanied by freshly grilled vegetables, and higher-end restaurants with panoramic sea views. 

As for the apartment itself? It feels traditional, without feeling dated – seamlessly stitching together fine pieces of antique furniture, with clean-cut modern and functional items, whilst tile flooring and the occasional wooden beam act as a nod to a bygone era. We especially love the exposed stone detailing on the archway in the bedroom area. This beautiful villa can be found on the west side of Praiano, close to the centre. It’s in a wonderfully convenient location, near the stunning architecture of historic buildings like the Church of Saint Gennaro, and within easy reach of the beach. 

You may find that you’re entirely content to spend your stay at the villa though – there’s certainly enough to keep you entertained. On arrival, you’ll first be taken by the magnificent sea views. The flight of stairs you have to tackle to reach the villa are well worth the effort once you see the unrivalled views of the sea and the rugged coastline. This is a breath-taking setting.

In the afternoon, slip on your flip-flops and mosey through your charming neighbourhood. Stop for an espresso in a local cafe before jumping in the car or hopping on the bus to Marina di Praia Beach. It’s in the heart of Noccele village just 5 kilometres from Positano – you can walk there via the Path of Gods or hop on a direct bus to the city centre from the stop 300 metres away. There are a fair few steps to climb to reach the entrance of the home, but once there, you’re rewarded with incredible views of Positano below. The kitchen leads straight to an alfresco dining area, and the terrace flows around to the private infinity pool. You’ll even have access to a bar and wine cellar – this villa is a dreamy choice. 

Majestic Amalfi

There's something rather magical about the view from this apartment nestled within a private park in Positano – ruggedly beautiful cliffsides peppered with dwellings part to reveal a burst of gloriously blue Tyrrhenian Sea and the uninterrupted skyline beyond. It makes for a charming backdrop while you soak up the sunshine or enjoy alfresco meals on the terrace.

Although the apartment itself lies on the smaller side of things, we're quite fond of the bright and contemporary design, particularly the sleek white galley kitchen and the fetching patterned tiling underfoot in the bedrooms. It's a home that's been owned by the same family for more than three decades, but you can certainly tell that it's received plenty of attention in recent years.

The local town of Positano itself isn't large, so most of the attractions are easily reachable on foot, including the golden sands of Spiaggia Grande Positano only 400 metres from the front door. In the wider area, those fond of a hike will appreciate the hilly terrain and walking routes found throughout the Amalfi Coast.

The views over the Amalfi Coast from this home’s infinity pool and whirlpool are incredible. There are a variety of terraces for relaxing and alfresco dining, while inside this place, dating from the 15th century, there’s a traditional feel with beams and handmade tiles. There's an open fire in the living room for cooler evenings and all of the bedrooms are en-suite (two also have a private terrace). Situated in the oldest part of Amalfi, it’s just a short walk down the steps to the centre of the town or you can take one of two public lifts.

The Amalfi Sunshine

This traditional apartment doesn’t have much of a socialising space, with the main communal area being the relatively compact kitchen. Still, both bedrooms are spacious, light-filled, and offer direct access to the balcony. And what it lacks in size and shared space inside, it makes up for with sea views across the Amalfi Coast when you step outdoors. You’ll need to be relatively fit to climb around fifty stairs to reach the apartment from the narrow alleyway below, but the vistas are worth it.

With postcard-perfect views of the Tyrrhenian Sea from its private terrace, this home guarantees a holiday to remember. The traditional interiors are charming and cosy, and we loved the nonna-style kitchen for rustling up authentic Italian dishes, enjoyed together in the internal courtyard. Thanks to the flexible sleeping arrangements, this place is ideal for any family or friends travelling together. Location-wise, Fornillo Beach is within walking distance, and you’re not far from Positano's laid-back restaurants and independent shops.

When you think of Positano, you imagine the incredible views. You may have seen the Instagram posts about everyone trying to find the perfect view for sunset. Well, they're wasting their time – the best view in the city comes from the gorgeous terrace of your villa. But unlike the other popular spots, this view is reserved solely for you. 

Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee on the dining table or lounging on the sun beds, you're perfectly placed to admire the colourful houses and blue stretch of the sea. Of course, the best views are when the orange hues of sunset blend into the deep blue shades of the water.

Peering over the Amalfi Coast, this postcard-worthy villa is the perfect Positano escape. After a slap-up seafood dinner by the water, return to your abode to watch the sky swirl in pinks and purples as you sip an Aperol spritz.
