There's realistically only one thing we can start with when talking about this home and that's the gorgeous view of the Gulf of Naples that lies out of the main living area's huge window. Thankfully, these French doors open wide and the balcony lets you take in the coastal panorama with the sunlight on your skin. If you're still in need of another vantage point, guests also get access to a communal roof terrace with some seating on which to clink glasses while the sun sets in the background.

Right, enough about the scenery, because the apartment itself deserves some praise. There's an elegant simplicity to the design, with the whitewashed walls working well with the ample amounts of natural light, plus a minimalist kitchen ready and waiting for Italian feasts. We also like the ceramics collection arranged in alcoves in the hallways, which pay homage to the region's culture and heritage in chic fashion.

As you can tell by looking out the window, you don't have to venture far to find the beach – as a matter of fact, Spiaggia di San Montano is only 200 metres away. There are a few bars and restaurants in the local area, but for a wider choice along with some magnificent historic architecture, Sorrento is just a short drive away up the coastline.

The views from this home will make you want to settle in and stay. Fortunately, there’s a private pool, a terrace and all the essentials you could need to make it your own. The house itself consists of four apartments – making this a great option for groups looking to stretch out and spend quality time together. Each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom and there is a sofa bed for one guest in the second apartment. Private parking is available and you’ll find plenty to explore in the surroundings. From here, it’s just a fifteen minute drive into Sorrento and the nearest beaches. The bus stop is just a three-minute walk away and your host is on hand to help organise private transfers.

Once the residence of the noble d'Avalos family, this 18th-century villa close to the tip of the Amalfi Coast still retains an air of grandeur. The outside space is just as swoon-worthy.
