It’s not small in the first place, but between them, these three can hold a group of sixteen people.

Situated in the heart of Florence, with the iconic Ponte Vecchio only a stone’s throw away, this home gives you access to some of the capital’s best sights. See the city’s love of art in renaissance galleries and museums within walking distance, and don’t miss the touristy bits like the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Piazzale Michelangelo – more of a walk, but worth the views. The home, on the sixth floor with a working elevator – rare in Florence – might not be revolutionary, and the kitchen is small, but it is comfortable, and the view of the river and Duomo is a nice touch.

Home of an architect, Alberata Selva has been meticulously designed to a coherent theme, and anything that doesn’t fit has been jettisoned. It’s the sort of obsession we understand. The flat itself is fairly large anyway, but it’s worth knowing that it would be excellent for very big groups, as both other places on the same floor of the building are run by Daniele and his team. If all booked together, they could take as many as sixteen guests at once.

While we'd never encourage people to lob projectiles at Florence's famous medieval bridge, those with a strong arm and a keen aim could probably throw a stone at Ponte Vecchio from this apartment's balcony. Perched just above the River Arno, it's a truly peaceful setting and offers a unique perspective of the destination. 

Back inside, there's a classic feel to the design, with parquet floors, artworks lining the walls and antique furnishings lending the atmosphere of a museum or an exclusive members' club. That being said, there are contemporary touches too, like the sleek bathrooms and mosaiced kitchen.

Aside from the famous river crossings, there's plenty more to see in the immediate area. Both the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum and Uffizi Gallery can be reached in under five minutes on foot, while Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens sit a little bit further away just across the Arno.

Astride the Arno

With a great location in the hip Santo Spirito district, this two-storey Florence home is ideal for travellers who want the best local vibes. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and lots of the city's most famous attractions are within walking distance. Back at home, there are several outdoor spaces if you want to enjoy the sun, though neither stands out – especially as there are several parks in the area. And while the home's style isn't going to win a design award, there's everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The Modern Floret

This stylish apartment lies in Florence's Santo Spirito district, close to Pitti Palace and the picturesque Boboli Gardens. You'll need to bring the basics with you here, as only minimal amounts of toiletries, dish soap, and other essentials are provided. This home places you away from the bustling city centre, but you'll find shops and restaurants within easy reach for stocking up. One of the double beds is made up of two singles, making the sleeping arrangements flexible for families and friends, and your host can provide a cot for little ones for an additional fee.

Boboli Deluxe

Ideally located in the quaint residential neighbourhood of Oltrarno, just a short and idyllic stroll away from the Boboli Gardens, this garden apartment provides a welcoming retreat for those who want to be close to the heart of the city, while enjoying the peace and quiet of a suburban spot.

Lovers of characterful homes will be impressed by the country cottage interiors, recently renovated to give all the Tuscan charm that will make your stay that extra bit splendid. We especially love the private garden, enclosed by ancient stone walls that make it feel secluded and special.

Boboli's Brother

Argonaut is all about the view. It looks directly down onto the Arno and the Ponte Vecchio – one of Florence’s iconic structures. Even for a city known for its beautiful scenes, this is special. Inside, the flat feels quite retro – it could easily be from the 60s, if you weren’t aware of the more modern amenities. Of course, not everyone will go for that aesthetic, but it’s a coherent, thought-through theme, and one that’s been executed well. 


Argonaut

Snowball's location is unbeatable – the postcard-worthy view of Ponte Vecchio from your flower-laced balcony is an absolute dream. From here, exploring Florence on foot will be easy, and you'll appreciate the quiet atmosphere inside after a long day of sightseeing. The design leans heavily towards functionality, but the living room windows provide ample natural light and we liked the feeling of dining (almost) outside by the balcony. 

Snowball

This wonderful apartment can be found right at the heart of beautiful Florence. It’s a bright and welcoming space, the perfect home from home for couples or a family hoping to experience authentic Firenze. Here you get to live as locals do, while also being within a few minutes' walk of every major sight. 

When you get up in the morning, you’ll likely want to sip coffee and eat pastries on the balcony. From there you can watch the city come to life as you plan your day. It’s always a good idea to head to the Uffizi Gallery nice and early, so we’d start there. When you’ve had your fill of incredible art – which is just a twelve-minute walk from the apartment – grab an outdoor table at a trattoria for lunch. Sip a glass of Chianti while you dine on spaghetti puttanesca. The apartment has a great kitchen with a dining table, so if you wanted instead to shop for groceries and whip something up yourself, you can do so easily – and you’re bound to feel inspired by the food here. 

In the afternoon, you might like to stroll to Boboli Gardens. The world-famous gardens are a sixteen-minute walk away and are an oasis in the bustling city. Cross over Ponte Vecchio on your way back, browsing the jewellery shops and soaking up the history. On your way out for dinner, stroll along to the Duomo – the most iconic sight in Florence is seventeen minutes away, and the piazza it sits in is always lively. 

After hectic days exploring everything there is to see and do in this most marvellous of cities, it’s a blessing to have such a lovely space to return to. You’ll feel right at home here. 


From Firenze

With a charming terrace overlooking red-tiled roofs, we love that this home immerses you in Florence. You're just a short walk from Ponte Vecchio here, and you'll find a wide range of eateries closeby. Back at home, the second bedroom's ensuite opens up into the bedroom – as there's no curtain, we think it's better for baths. In addition, you'll be climbing several flights of stairs to reach this third-floor home as there's no elevator – though we think the terrace makes it worth the walk. It also might not be suitable for some during summer – there's only air conditioning in the living areas, though there are plenty of windows to let in a breeze.

The Lofty Vision

This one-bedroom apartment in the heart of Florence boasts a lovely rooftop terrace with sweeping views across the city. You'll have space for dining alfresco, and shops and supermarkets are just minutes away on foot. There's a large flight of steps to reach the entrance, which won't be suitable for everyone, but the views and location are more than worth it. If you're looking for a cosy spot that's a bit out of the way but still within walking distance of attractions and restaurants, look no further.
