Positioned close to the centre of the lakeside town of Cernobbio, this light and spacious apartment keeps good company, a stone's throw from some of Lake Como's most illustrious villas.

The open-plan interior is chic and contemporary, which will appeal to lovers of an uncluttered, minimalist aesthetic. Head through to the two bedrooms and you'll discover that they follow a similar ethos, with gold accents adding a touch of glamour to proceedings.

Step outside and discover Villa Bernasconi just steps away – one of the best examples of Art Nouveau architecture in the whole of Italy. Walk towards the lake and you'll encounter Villa Erba, which is used to host some of the most exclusive events in the world, as well as making cameos in the occasional Hollywood movie. For the outdoorsy types, Cernobbio is the jumping-off point for many picturesque mountain hikes including the eighty-eight mile Via dei Monti Lariani, though you're more than welcome just to do a small section.

You’ll find this apartment a mere one-minute walk from the shores of Lake Como. Here, there are a variety of dining options and shops to discover, while Giardino della Valle and the Villa Erba exhibition and trade centre are also a short stroll away. The home itself has modern decor, and the open-plan living space sleeps guests three and four on a sofa bed. There’s also a terrace area filled with palms to enjoy the Italian sun. Last but not least, there’s free parking in a private garage – this place is great for exploring Lombardy.

This villa has a lot to offer. For starters, the location is fantastic. Cernobbio is right at your fingertips – you're just a ten-minute walk from the town's restaurants, lakefront promenade, historic villas, and ferry port. The private pool back home is perfect for an evening dip, while the traditional living area is the definition of cosy. Our favourite spot to unwind is in the sunroom, a glass of wine in one hand and a good book in another. All the bedrooms are comfortable, though one lacks air conditioning, and two others have small double beds. There's also an office for remote workers, an outdoor table for alfresco dining, and private parking for exploring Lake Como with ease.

your worries for relaxed, carefree living? Well, it's as if we've plucked this location straight from your reverie. Just a two-minute walk from lovely Lake Como, where peace and quiet reign, and rich green mountains cascade over calming waters, this spot is very desirable.

Our recommendation? Wander down to the charming lake village of Cernobbio, mosey around the shops, cafes and bars, before stopping off for a bowl of fettuccini along the water's edge. Taste local limoncello, perhaps bringing a bottle back to be enjoyed as an aperitivo on your private balcony. If you're looking to explore further afield, hire a boat or join a group trip to the lakeside delights of Bellagio or Varenna for the day. Come back home for a cheese and wine night in the open-plan living space, With a modern kitchen and a sociable layout, it's the perfect spot for group games. Minimal and muted inside, this home's truly enviable location speaks for itself.

This apartment, located in an Art Nouveau villa in Cernobbio, is a five-minute walk from the shore of Lake Como and a short drive from the town of Como. There are dining options on your doorstep, and there’s a supermarket close by if you need to pick up essentials. The home is spread across two levels with all modern amenities, including a fitness room. Outside, there is a hot tub overlooking the water, a patio for alfresco meals, as well as loungers for relaxing in the sunshine.

In the quiet town of Cernobbio, this bright apartment is just a few steps from the sparkling shore of Lake Como. Walk just two minutes to reach the lakeside, where the town’s cafés and bars offer alfresco views across the water to deep green mountains and you can follow rambling walking routes out of the town. Perhaps hop on the ferry to Bellagio, Menaggio or Varenna – the jetty is just a five-minute walk away.

In the apartment itself, you’ll find clean white walls and long French windows brightening up each room. Dine by the window in the kitchen and throw open the doors to create a Juliet-style balcony looking out over the leafy street below. The old stonework of the building is on display behind the dove-grey sofa and the kitchen units have everything you need for self-catering. That’s if you’re not too busy hitting every trattoria and gelateria in Cernobbio.

This contemporary apartment is only a five-minute stroll from the centre of Cernobbio. Shops, bars, restaurants – you name it, you can reach it on foot with ease. Location aside, what caught our eye here were the spectacular views of the surrounding Como Pre-Alps mountains. Thanks to a glass wall, you can enjoy them from the living area. Or, even better, admire the scenery while savouring a cocktail on the private balcony. The rest of the apartment is bright, comfortable, and modern in design. We think it makes a great base for a couple keen to explore Lake Como.

Housed within a stunning historic villa surrounded by botanical gardens and wonderfully manicured grounds, there’s no better place to relax, unwind and feel the magic of Lombardy’s loveliest landscape. 

Inside your home, bamboo parquet floors, terracotta-hued walls and a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings create an idyllic welcome with a beautiful winding staircase leading up to a mezzanine floor.

Stairs here lead down to the water should you want to take a dip in the lake, while the villa’s magnificent gardens boast a secret pathway that takes you to medieval Torno’s centre in fifteen minutes. Your host can also organise boat trips for you. With Como also just a fifteen-minute drive from your, there’s no end to the magical memories in store.

This contemporary apartment is located in Via Tommaso Grossi in Como, offering panoramic views of the city and lake from the communal rooftop terrace. We love the sleek interiors of this home, which provides a comfortable stay for a family or group of friends. Just note – as a party of five, two people will draw the short straw and sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. Still, it’s a sacrifice we’d be willing to make for this pad’s enviable location. If the views tempt you out for a meander, you’ll find Como at your feet just waiting to be explored.

Just a short stroll from the lake, this apartment brings you to the magical heart of Como. You’ll find everything you could on the doorstep with an abundant selection of shops, restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood. The train station is also a short walk away and there is paid parking available nearby. It’s worth noting the apartment is set across two floor with stairs, but you will find plenty of space to stretch out and unwind with a cosy living room and three snug bedrooms.

Set in the village of Brunate, this home offers wonderful views of Lake Como from its large terrace. Inside this apartment is impressive too with its high ceilings in the open-plan living space – there’s a second living area on the mezzanine too. Location-wise, there are a variety of local eateries and artisan shops or take a ride over to the city of Como where you’ll find an array of attractions. Or you can immerse yourself in nature with the many hiking trails through the forests here.

Sightseeing is a breeze at this apartment in the heart of Como. Whether you're keen to explore on foot or head out on the water, you couldn't ask for a better position in the town. But aside from the setting, we love how bright, cosy, and comfortable this apartment is. It seamlessly blends the traditional with the modern – think exposed brick fireplace, stained glass windows, and terracotta floors. The cherry on top is the private terrace, where you can sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the evening sunshine.

If you’ve ever fleetingly imagined another life for yourself – drinking espresso in your stylish Italian apartment as the sun streams in through the tall windows, maybe – then welcome to your Como abode. Framed by wooden shutters, the wonderful huge windows define every room, letting light dapple over the beautiful parquet floor. Period and contemporary pieces blend to give this home its tasteful yet welcoming feel – see the wooden dining table with accompanying designer chairs. And with air conditioning and an in-home washing machine, there’s no compromise on functionality. The huge living space is great for hanging out after a day of sightseeing, and we love the super squishy corner sofa. Crucially, the home is right in the heart of the pedestrian part of the city. You're right next to Palazzo Garibaldi, and plenty of restaurants, shops, bars. It's a short walk to the waterfront promenade too – we've taken longer to polish off a gelato.

Hello beautiful – the name says it all. This home bolsters stunning views of Italy’s idyllic Lake Como. At the heart of this dreamy apartment is a spectacular veranda terrace that will have you pinching yourself as you look out across the lake. Stylishly furnished, this home is as resplendent inside as it is outside, benefitting from calming open spaces bathed in natural light that are well suited for small gatherings with friends or family. Wake up and enjoy an al fresco breakfast on the terrace as you watch the sun rise over the water. We can think of nothing better than sitting back with a good book on one of the loungers and listening to the busy streets of Como below as you bask in the heat and sip cocktails above. Make the most of the location and arrange a sailing or boat tour along the river – a ten-minute walk down the road. Enjoy a scoop of gelato as you meander through the pretty avenues and gardens, and be sure to explore the city’s architectural landmarks and historical sights. Throw all that in with a loaf of focaccia and a glass of vino Rosso and you've got yourself the perfect Italian getaway.

This home, while compact, still oozes grandeur. The lovely high ceilings and multiple huge windows play a part. But there are other carefully considered details that give this apartment some extra oomph – light fittings are bold as brass, while the marble floor tiles and polished granite tabletop add some serious class. The ice machine in the high-spec kitchen is perfect for that cold Aperol Spritz you’ll be sipping by the window in the sunshine. In the lounge, the wall-mounted TV comes preloaded with Netflix, but there are restaurants and bars aplenty right on your doorstep as you’re right on the main square, so you might never reach for the remote. Even better, the serene shore of Lake Como is only a short stroll away, so hop in a water taxi and explore the pretty villas and villages of the lakeside. Return to your decadent floral bedroom where the marble in the en-suite adds to the glam.

Beautiful Lake Como is just 100 metres from this home, while other attractions nearby include the pretty Giardini del Tempio Voltiano with its museum, just over a five-minute walk away. Or head to Como Cathedral and Basilica di San Fedele – both are around five minutes on foot. There are a variety of cafés and restaurants for lunch on your doorstep, or head back to this elegant apartment. 

Open up the French doors to the Juliet balcony and take a seat on the comfy sofa to rest your feet for a while. We love the living room with its polished wood floors and vases of cream flowers. Whip up an insalata caprese in the modern kitchen and enjoy it at your dining table next to the wall adorned with giant cutlery. This home is the perfect retreat for a couple or solo traveller looking for easy access to the lake.

Location-wise, Carate Urio has oodles of old-world charm and an authentic, local atmosphere. Enjoy a cappuccino right by the water, then sprawl out on the small beach for a spot of sunbathing and swimming. In the evenings, stroll along the steeped, winding lanes in the village before grabbing a bite to eat at the traditional restaurants. And when you fancy exploring further afield, catch the ferry from Urio's dock (only a short walk away) to travel to Como.

Located in Blevio, there's the stunning Giardinetti Di Sorto, a short walk away, or go for a hike through the forests of Sasso del Lupo nearby.

Because of the perched location of this home, you'll have to climb steps up to it, but it'll all be worth it for the breathtaking panorama of Lake Como. Overlooking Lake Como, this quintessentially Italian house caught our eye for its fantastic views. The outdoor space may not be huge, but the dramatic vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains certainly make up for that. What’s more, they can be enjoyed from every room in the home, as well as from the poolside. Located in the pretty hillside village of Moltrasio, with its lakeside cafes, steep streets and small harbour, holidays here are all about taking it easy and enjoying the spectacular scenery.

Inside it's modern and fresh, and there's a well-equipped kitchen for creating some tasty Italian cuisine. This apartment is ideal for a family or friends looking for a well-located holiday home.

When you stay at this apartment in the lakeside town of Torno, you'll have the area's tourist attractions within walking distance. There are a handful of eateries nearby, too, or cook up some Italian cuisine in this spacious apartment's kitchen. Alternatively, let your host arrange a private chef while you put your feet up – you're on holiday, after all. We love the features here, such as the beamed ceilings and panelled walls. This place is ideal for a family – bedroom two is more suitable for the kids as it has a bunk bed.

The home's layout over multiple floors means everyone will have plenty of space, but some rooms don't get much natural light. And while you won't find free parking here, you won't need a car to make the most of your stay.

Overlooking Piazza Volta, this apartment has a prime location. You’ll be a short stroll from the lake and many of the city’s attractions. One of the main highlights of this apartment is the vistas from the bedrooms overlooking the lake. There’s also a desk in the main bedroom if you need to work while away. We love the two small balconies as well – perfect for enjoying the atmosphere of the piazza. This is the place to book to experience the heart of the city.

If you’re visiting as a group, these two self-contained apartments make for an idyllic spot in Como. There’s plenty of space for your cohort, including two handy sofa beds to accommodate up to four guests – perfect if you’re visiting with children. And while you can enjoy the privacy of these two spaces, the living spaces are great for coming together to share dinners after days on Lake Como. While the patio is on the small side, and the views only look out onto the courtyard, it’s a nice spot to sip a glass of wine at the end of the day.
