A hot tub overlooking Lake Como and you’re own boat dock; this villa is not your average lakeside getaway. If you’re not using your own boat, the ferry jetty is a three-minute walk from the villa, ready to whisk you to the lakeside delights of Bellagio or Varenna for the day. Or, stick around in the peaceful village of Sala Comacina, with its lakeside lido and handful of local restaurants.

The villa’s outdoor space is, quite simply, stunning. A panoramic view of the azure lake, flanked by rich green mountains is on offer from every lawn lounger, parasol-shaded dining table and covered veranda. Perhaps the best spot to take in the vista is from the comfort of the bubbling hot tub. 

Picture-frame windows inside mean you don’t miss out on Lake Como views in the bedrooms either. Glass French doors and a wall of windows open the opulent living room out to the covered veranda, blending indoors with outdoors. An old stone fireplace can keep the place cosy in the cooler months and a marble-style floor keeps things cool underfoot. In raw light-wood, the kitchen feels Scandi-chic and there’s plenty of room in here to cook and dine comfortably. We particularly love the wooden beams still on display in the huge master bedroom.

When we saw the Lake Como vistas from this gorgeous villa, we thought we were dreaming – they are sublime. Admire them from the hot tub and sun loungers in the beautiful lakeside garden or while cooking some local produce on the barbecue. Inside, it is no less impressive – the views can be enjoyed from here too from the floor-to-ceiling windows. With lots of features such as a spiral staircase, stone floors and interesting antiques – this home is perfect for entertaining your friends and family in style.

This villa has its own private berth, so you can charter a boat and explore Lake Como. Or, head to Sala Comacina, a five-minute stroll away, with its picturesque old town, quaint narrow streets and glorious views of Comacina, Lake Como's only island. Spiaggia di San Vito, a lakeside beach, is a twelve-minute saunter from here, if you want to dip your toes in the crystal-clear water.

As soon as you step into the living space, we’re sure you’ll agree that the stark decor and modernist architecture perfectly frames the view of the lake and the island of Comocina available from every window. Run by a local family, everything in this home is geared towards your enjoyment from the luxurious bedding to the fireplace which lights up dark evenings. Relax in the private infinity pool with the scent of jasmine and lavender drifting up from the garden overlooking what is, in our not-so-humble opinion, the best view in the whole region.

There’s an inner courtyard filled with fragrant jasmine and Italian herbs off the kitchen too. You can also take in the vistas from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the split-level open-plan living space and the bedrooms which all have en-suites. When you want to explore, Ossuccio with its pretty pastel houses is nearby. Stay here and you’re sure to create unforgettable memories.

If you're looking for a home with a view, then they don't get much more awe-inspiring than this. Right on the edge of Lake Como, this sweet apartment offers sweeping vistas across the water and a wonderfully peaceful setting. 

The interior is modern yet welcoming, cloaked in soothing neutral shades. The windows usher in plenty of natural light, and we loved the charming wooden ceilings. However, the jewel in the crown of this home is the outdoor space. Simply wake up and open up the patio doors to step right onto the balcony – it's the perfect place to sip your morning coffee. There's also a terrace with sun loungers where you can admire the sweeping landscapes, and even access to your own tiny beach if you fancy a paddle. 

If you feel like getting out onto the water, then there are a few boat rental companies just a short stroll away. However, if you would prefer to stay on dry land, then there are a few restaurants where you can sip a glass of wine and admire the boats from afar. Plus, the town of Bellagio is just a fifteen-minute car ride away – wander through the cobbled streets, gelato in hand, before taking a stroll through Villa Serbelloni Park.

If you can tear yourself away, live like a local in ​​Tremezzo where pizzerias and authentic Italian food awaits. And of course, a trip out on Lake Como itself is a must – it’s the perfect place to soak up the scenery.

With its feet right on the banks of Lake Como, this modern and fuss-free apartment is as close to the water you can get. Your mornings will begin on the balcony, with a cappuccino and flaky pastry, or on the shingle of your private beach to watch boats cut through the gentle waves.

The views of Lake Como from this home are simply gorgeous – we could sit on the balcony here gazing out over the gently rippling water to the mountains for hours. You can enjoy the incredible vistas from the terrace too, where you can relax on the sun loungers or dine alfresco. Whip up some tortelli di zucca in the sleek, dove grey kitchen for dinner. On chilly evenings gather around the fire or get some rest in the stylish bedrooms with their ornate wallpaper. 

Situated in Argegno, there are a range of eateries within a five-minute walk. Further afield, the alpine city of Lecco, with its splendid Basilica di San Nicolò, is eleven minutes in the car. Or walk the trails of the stunning Monte Barro Regional Park, a sixteen-minute drive from this lovely home.



Watching The Boats Go By

Transporting you right to the edge of Lake Como, this home will captivate you with its sweeping views and beautiful garden. It’s also just a short drive from Argegno, making this a great base from which to explore and admire the nearby sights. Back at home, the focus is on pure relaxation. You can soak in the incredible views from the jacuzzi or whilst sipping drinks on the terrace. There are lots of steps here so it may not be suitable for young children, but you will find an internal lift connecting the three floors – a nice option for those with reduced mobility. 


A Dream to Remember

Enjoy timeless charm at this historic lakeside retreat. This beautiful home sits on the shores of Lake Como and boasts wonderful views, to be enjoyed from inside and out, thanks to large windows in almost every room. The house is surrounded by a private park planted with an olive grove, bamboo forest, azaleas, and acacias. There’s a barbecue and a shaded dining area outside, and a stunning kitchen at the heart of the home – and your host can arrange a private chef. The year-round-heated pool, gym, and tennis court mean there’s no chance of boredom here.

After being occupied by the same family for five generations, this home lay uninhabited for several decades before it was treated to a complete renovation. Today, the thought that this remarkable home lay unappreciated for so long makes us slightly sad.

The views alone are worth a stay here. From the two terraces, you get a sensational panorama of Lake Como, the mountains surrounding the waters and some of the local area's spectacular buildings, like Villa Balbianello. With a pair of loungers and an alfresco dining table, you can pass hours upon hours with this backdrop for company.

Back inside the home, some period features, like the exposed brickwork, have been tastefully retained, while many of the more modern additions are vintage in style, such as the copper bathtub in one of the bedrooms, the tiled flooring and the mighty wooden dining table. The kitchen is as contemporary as they come, however.

The local village of Mezzegra on your doorstep has restaurants, a bakery and a handful of historic churches to wander between. The banks of the lake can also be reached in ten minutes on foot, while Monte Crocione sits behind the property if you're up for a challenge.



Family Heirloom

The view from this home’s private terrace is surely the envy of every building in town. From the wrought-iron bistro set beneath the pergola, your eyes can feast on a panorama of sparkling Lake Como, flanked by snow-capped mountains as orange-roofed villages tumble down the hillsides. Out here, you’ve got plenty of space to enjoy the view, from the dining table or perhaps lapping up the sun on a lounger. We love the ancient mosaic tiles on the covered veranda.

Inside, the plush sofa is aimed at the French doors, rather than the TV, so you can enjoy the view whatever the weather. A huge archway opens the living room up to the dine-in kitchen, and there’s a traditional wall-press filled with holiday reads for a quiet moment. Bedrooms are calming spaces in soothing neutral palettes and the master benefits from corner windows looking out to the mountains. 

You’re on a street in Argegno's old centre, right on the water. The lakeside swimming pool is a five-minute walk away, along with the ferry stop ready to whisk you across Lake Como to the likes of Bellagio, Menaggio or Varenna. Or, just stick around Argegno and enjoy the bars and restaurants that lace the town.

A private beach on the shores of Lake Como? If that's not the definition of relaxing, we don't know what it is. Consisting of two separate apartments, this lakefront home, just a fifteen-minute drive from Bellagio, is perfect for exploring the region. Each apartment has two bedrooms, a breezy living area, and spectacular views. You can enjoy the panoramas from the balconies or, better yet, pad down to the beach and stretch out at the water's edge. Four guests will sleep on double sofa beds in the living area, but that's a worthwhile compromise when the beach is on your doorstep.

There was once a medieval watchtower on the spot that now holds Miraggio, and when you see the panorama, it becomes clear why. Lots of places in Italy have nice views, but these are beyond anything we’ve seen before. It’s completely private, a secluded hillside where you can retreat from the bustle of the world and feel like there’s nothing except you and the lake. This isolation might be a problem, were there not so much to do in the home. Not only the pool, but billiards, a gym, a garden, even a grand piano if you’re feeling up to playing it. And if, somehow, these views weren’t enough, there’s a cable car within walking distance that will give you some even more dramatic vistas.

We defy anyone to look through this home's photos and not feel instantly at ease. It's something to do with the ample amounts of space, cleansing white walls and large arched windows that look out over rooftops and also flood the interior with sunshine.

The design is definitely sparse, although we think there are enough personal touches to ward off accusations of anonymity. The floral-style lampshade in the bedroom is eye-catching and we also like the vintage travel adverts hanging in frames on the wall.

However, don't be surprised if you don't actually spend all too much time in the apartment. The home's position in the Mezzegra region is simply gorgeous, helped by the fact that the banks of Lake Como can be reached in five minutes' walk. Villa del Balbianello takes forty-five minutes to reach on foot, while you catch a ferry to the town of Bellagio in just over an hour.

This lakeside villa in Argegno, a sleepy town near the Swiss border, is the stuff that dreams are made of. Stylish and perfectly located, it's the ideal spot for a group of friends or family who are ready to fall in love with the stunning Como landscapes. 

Step inside, and you'll find a serene space that will help you settle in within no time at all. The sage green sofas, sleek breakfast bar, and home office provide plenty of places to work or relax, depending on your plans for the day. Huge windows flood the rooms with natural light and frame the fantastic views of the lake. Slide open the patio doors and head out to the patio, where you can breathe in the fresh mountain air as you admire the stunning vistas across the water. There's even a Jacuzzi to soak in, and an alfresco dining area for long, lavish meals – and your host will provide a chilled bottle of Prosecco. 

If you want to take a boat trip, then the marina is just a five-minute walk away from your front door, and you'll also find an outdoor lakeside swimming pool where you can take a dip. Hikers can join one of the local trails for an invigorating hike through the incredible scenery, and when you get hungry you can take your pick from the traditional Italian restaurants back in Argegno.

Petite and pretty, you'll find this home right on the edge of Lake Como, near the centre of Tremezzo. It's ideal for couples or very small families who are looking for some peace and quiet to enjoy this idyllic corner of Italy. 

The kitchen is ready for you to whip up some delicious meals, or simply arrange some antipasti, depending on what you feel like. Mix an Aperol Spritz and head out to the patio to enjoy your apperitif in the fresh air with a view of the lake – your host will even provide comfortable deckchairs and tables. If you need to catch up on emails then there's a dedicated workspace, and at the end of the day you'll love curling up in the perfect pink bedroom. 

You can walk to the centre of Tremezzo and the famous Villa Carlotta in only eight minutes from here, and you're also close to Scalo di Villa Carlotta ferry landing, which can take you around the lake to several points of interest. Plus, the city centre of Como is around a forty-minute drive away – visit the cathedral and wander along the promenade before you hop on the funicular railway for an excellent view.

You’ll find this sophisticated yet inviting home-from-home a ten-minute walk from the heart of Nesso. Behind the egg-yolk yellow and mint green exterior is a cool, calm and collected abode with a neutral colour scheme and pared-back furnishings. 

The living space calls for quiet moments with a novel while the bright kitchen encourages lively breakfasts with platters of sweet pastries and copious amounts of milky coffee. When it’s warm out, spill onto the large terrace and soak up the picture-perfect views of Lake Como. Savour the stillness before pulling on your walking shoes and exploring the neighbourhood. 

Should you start to feel peckish, focus your fork on Bellagio, a thirty-four-minute drive away. Find a smart waterside restaurant or pick up local produce from artisanal shops and take it back to your pad. Prepare a knockout feast in your streamlined kitchen and serve alfresco as the sun begins to set.

La Casa Gialla

Escape to the shores of Lake Como with a stay in this peaceful retreat. You’ll be welcomed by stunning views, a serene garden and an infinity pool for refreshing dips. There’s also a terrace with a barbecue for alfresco dining and you’ll find plenty of space inside to stretch out and unwind. Your host can also help organise special extras like massage treatments, private chefs and yoga sessions. You will need a car to get around here, but it’s just a short drive to Menaggio and Tremezzo. 



Reflections of Peace

Now that's what we call a view. Located in the charming town of Nesso, this apartment offers breathtaking views of Lake Como. You can admire the panoramas from the balcony, or watch the waves roll in while swimming in the shared pool. Vistas aside, the apartment is sleek and contemporary. There's a sofa bed for a third guest, but we think it would be a better fit for two. In terms of location, Como is twenty minutes away, making it an excellent starting point for exploring the region.

Echo of the Water

With scenic views over Lake Como and direct access onto the terrace from all three bedrooms, this apartment is perfect for small groups. It's located in the charming town of Nesso, with lakefront walking paths, restaurants and bars within easy reach. Plus, Como is just a short drive away for sightseeing ventures. 

Inside, you'll find plenty of space for your group to spread out and unwind with two sitting areas, an elegant dining room, and a study area for those working remotely. Just note that the kitchen is on the small side, and better suited for preparing light bites rather than large meals. 

Nesso Nook

Offering stunning views of Lake Como, this home is ideal for those looking to experience the best of the area’s dramatic scenery, all while benefitting from a comfortable, modern stay. Given its layout over three floors, you’ll need to be prepared for a workout here. But waking up to glorious views 200 metres above the lake is reward enough, we think. With a freestanding tub, a fireplace in the living room and a picturesque lawn equipped with outdoor seating, there’s plenty to appreciate here outside and in.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Como, a mere ten-minute drive from Bellagio, this four-storey villa boasts panoramic water views and a private pool. The fourth floor isn’t accessible, but there’s still plenty of space for up to ten guests to spread out across the remaining three floors – although it’s worth noting that at full occupancy, two people will draw the short straw and sleep on the sofa bed on the second floor. Still, with the tranquillity of the garden and private access to the lake, you’re highly likely to spend most of your time in the outdoor space, soaking up the sun, dining alfresco and enjoying the lake vistas.

And with a range of exceptional features, you’ll find it easy to settle in and make it your own. From the heated swimming pool and wellness area to the gym and steam room, every detail has been considered to inspire optimum relaxation. Daily breakfast and housekeeping are included, and you’ll receive a welcome dinner on the first evening of your stay. There is also a children’s playground, a private boat (available for an additional fee) and plenty to explore in the surroundings. From here, it’s just a short walk to the nearest village, while the cable car (500 metres away) will take you down to Argegno in just five minutes.
