Donning the classic whites and blues of a beach house, this villa in San Lorenzo is a mere three minute stroll away from one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily, but it has way more to offer than just that. The picture of modern comfort, this home encourages morning lie-ins and refreshing rain showers, first-sip-of-your-coffee moments and alfresco dining, but most importantly it forces the connection between human and nature with a very magnetising outdoor area. The moment you step out onto the patio and see the breathtaking, panoramic views of the Ionian Sea, you’ll not be able to comprehend how it can get any better, but just wait until you take the stairs up onto the sun terrace. The practical interiors could be more impressive – and two guests will sleep on the sofa bed – but the area, views, and sun-kissed outdoor spaces make it a good choice.

They say good things come in threes, and these villas won't disappoint. Great for multiple families or large friend groups, this trio of homes are right by the Ionian Sea. You'll have your pick of rooftop terraces to watch the sunset and private pools to splash about in (though it's worth noting that not all the pools are open throughout the year). We recommend hiring a car here if you're hoping to pay a visit to Noto or Marzamemi or spots like Mount Etna or the Vendicari nature reserve.

You're not seeing double. This home is made up of two neighbouring villas on the same estate. You'll have two of everything here – two private pools (though only one of these is open all year round), two gardens, and two rooftop terraces with sea views where you can watch the sunset. We think it's excellent for separate families or large friend groups craving independent spaces. You'll want a car here, as the baroque towns of Syracuse, Ragusa and Noto are within driving distance. Meanwhile, beach days are at your fingertips with the nearest sandy shore just 300 metres away.

Our favourite beach, San Lorenzo, is a nineteen-minute walk, or you can nip there in two minutes in the car. Spend the afternoon in Marzamemi, where you can stroll along the cobbled streets and treat yourself to some fresh seafood for lunch – there’s no shortage of picture-perfect eateries along the attractive harbour. 

You have a tough decision to make in the evening – do you watch the sunset from the roof terrace or from the hot tub in the pool? Wherever you choose to enjoy it, make sure you do so with a glass of local wine. Absolute bliss.

This stunning home tucked away on Southern Italy’s coastline offers a perfect slice of Sicilian paradise. If you do manage to tear yourself away, head on out to the historic city of Syracuse, just ten minutes away by car, to sample local delicacies and sumptuous Sicilian wines, and shop for souvenirs of your time on this spectacular island. Casa Isola

Just minutes from the nearest sandy beach, this villa boasts views of the Ionian sea, its own private pool, and two terraces. With some small steps up to the pool and main terrace, it may not be suitable for all guests with limited mobility. But the flexible sleeping arrangement and provided cot and high chair mean it's great for families or friend groups travelling together.  We recommend hiring a car for visiting Marzamemi and the Taormina nature reserve, as well as popular Sicilian spots like Noto.

It’s easy to immerse yourself in San Lorenzo’s natural beauty at this home, the entire villa is enveloped in olive trees, flora and palms. It’s also worth spending a day in the seaside village of Marzamemi, a fourteen-minute drive away, for its charming seafood tavernas and quaint piazzas – make sure you visit the Church of San Francesco di Paola as you meander through the narrow streets with a gelato in hand.
