Reached by a private bridge, this historic home has a wonderful Venetian setting. It’s just a twelve-minute walk from Piazza San Marco and nine minutes from the Rialto Bridge. A few vaporetto stops are also within walking distance, so reaching Marco Polo airport and the islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello, and the Lido is easy. Inside this apartment, you can watch gondolas passing on the canal or take in the vistas over the terracotta rooftops. The decor is traditional, and there’s a lived-in vibe, so this home may not suit minimalists. But if you need to work from home, you’ll be glad to know there are a couple of desks here.

We love the vistas of Venice from this apartment. You can see a large number of sights without leaving home – how amazing is that? From the Bacino San Marco and the Lido, to San Servolo, and San Lazzaro degli Armeni, it's all there waiting to be admired. But that's not all – you can also see San Giorgio, the Punta Della Dogana and the beginning of the Grand Canal and more. We can imagine experiencing the Redentore Festival and New Year's Eve here, watching the wonderful show of boats and fireworks on the lagoon. 

This place is great for entertaining – there are two large sofas to accommodate everyone easily in the living room. The space has traditional terrazzo floors and prints depicting Venetian scenery. Or head to the library and read a book if you want some peace and quiet.

This apartment's location is excellent as well. St Mark's Square is just 500 metres away, so why not explore this iconic sight and then stop off for a coffee and some cake at one of its cafes? There's a water taxi stop 100 metres away, too, for when you want to discover more of this city's gems.

This Venetian home has a gem of a location in the Arsenal district of Venice, which houses the Naval History Museum. It’s just a five-minute walk to the Biennale Gardens, an area created by Napoleon at the beginning of the nineteenth century, while St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge are just fifteen minutes on foot. If you prefer to use the water bus, there’s a Vaporetto stop located a few steps away from the apartment, so you can easily reach Piazzale Roma or Murano Island.

Inside this abode, the warm tones from the wood beams contrast nicely with the whitewashed walls. There are three sofas, so there’s plenty of room for everyone to relax. If you don’t fancy eating out, whip up a risotto al nero di sepia in the modern kitchenette. In a city with so many incredible accommodation options, you'll know that you made the right choice from the moment you lay your eyes on the jaw-dropping 360-degree views from the rooftop. With Marco Polo Airport and the Dolomites to the North and every tower and rooftop in Venice immediately surrounding you – it's even better than the photos. We'd encourage at least one early morning wake-up call to take in the changing colours as the sun rises, while a sunset Prosecco goes down a treat at the end of a long day of exploring. Once you've disembarked the water taxi and climbed the stairs to the front door, you'll be greeted by a seamless mix of original features and contemporary design. The interior offers an irresistible blend of exposed beams, ornate antique furniture and intricate wood mosaic flooring alongside a Scandinavian-inspired kitchen and modern artwork. The standout feature is, of course, the two outdoor terraces and accompanying views. There's ample outdoor seating so that you can pick a different spot for each meal. Then, having viewed the city from above, it's time to step out on the streets. You're conveniently close to some of Venice's headline highlights – St. Mark's Basilica and adjoining piazza are just a three-minute walk. At the same time, you're only 275m from Rialto Bridge, plus there's a supermarket and plenty of great restaurants and shops right on your doorstep.

Admire the stunning vistas from the Biennale Gardens to St Mark's Square from this special home's terrace – we were lost for words when we visited. You can see so much of Venice without leaving this spot. There's a list of sights as long as your arm – we're talking Bacino San Marco, the Lido, San Servolo, San Lazzaro degli Armeni, and San Giorgio, which hosts Fondazione Cini. Hold on – we have to catch our breath – ok, you can also see the Compagnia della Vela and Giudecca, as well as Punta Della Dogana, the beginning of the Grand Canal and more. 

During the Redentore Festival and New Year's Eve, you can watch the wonderful show of boats and fireworks on the lagoon – this place is truly unique. That's not all of the outdoor space – there's a lovely vine-covered terrace at the back, too.

Inside, you'll find polished wood floors and characterful beams, as well as more of those fabulous views from the living room. We love that the bedroom opens out onto the terrace – perfect for morning coffees. Just note that the bathroom has low ceilings.

This apartment's location is fantastic, too. Nearby, a water taxi stop and the Vaporetto stop "Arsenale" will take you to Piazzale Roma, Santa Lucia train station, Rialto Bridge and Marco Polo Airport. For everyday essentials, there's a well-stocked supermarket, a five-minute walk from this incredible home.

We love the mix of old and new, as well as the patterned wallpaper in the bedrooms. Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed, but in such a central location, that's a decent compromise.

That said, the supermarket is just a two-minute walk away, so you can brush up on your pasta skills.

What's a Venetian home without a canal view? This single-floor home in the heart of San Marco allows you to watch the gondolas go past from the living room window, while the garden view in three of the bedrooms offers some serenity. We felt the interior is a little parred back here, but the wooden beams overhead are a nice touch. There is limited seating in the living room, so at capacity, you might be more motivated to take advantage of the proximity to landmarks like the Piazza San Marco. And come dinnertime, you'll find several eateries within 100 yards of your front door.

This beautiful apartment can be found at the heart of Venice, just a few steps from iconic St Mark’s Square. It couldn’t be in a more convenient location, yet it’s also slightly tucked out of the way of the crowds so the apartment itself is peaceful.
