This elegant home is the ideal bolthole for those visiting Venice. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood – Campo Santo Stefano – close to every sight Venice has to offer, but away from the crowds. 

The apartment is a grand family home, with traditional touches like the wood-beamed ceilings. It’s on the fourth floor, and from the windows you can see a pretty skyscape of Venetian rooftops all the way to the Grand Canal. Even more amazingly for Venice, this building has an elevator so those four floors are no trouble at all. 

Take your morning coffee on the balcony, then head out to explore the city. The Vaporetto stop at Santa Maria del Giglio is five minutes from the apartment, so it’s easy to get out on the lagoon. The glorious views from Ponte dell’Accademia can be found just five minutes away, while Piazza San Marco is a ten-minute stroll. Rialto Bridge is nine minutes from the apartment – stroll across it with a gelato for a cheeky touristy moment. 

Calle XXII Marzo, an upmarket avenue of high-end boutiques, is just seven minutes from the apartment. Whether you’re flashing the cash or window shopping, it’s worth a wander.

This elegant apartment is spread across two floors of a historic palazzo, boasting fantastic views of the canal and the San Trovaso Church. You’ll be in a great location from which to explore Venice and enjoy gondola rides, but far enough from the usual tourist spots to enjoy some tranquillity too. This is an ideal base for a family, with plenty of space for everyone in the party to find a little private nook. There are some stairs to climb here, and the kitchen may be on the compact side, but still, this is a great find.

With a majestic basilica and elegant shops and cafés surrounding these 12th-century paving stones, it’s a sight you simply cannot miss – especially when your apartment is ten minutes away. 

This sophisticated home offers more modern interiors than its ancient neighbouring buildings. We love the sophisticated colour scheme in the bright living space, where greys and blues feel reminiscent of the main feature of the city – its canals. The kitchen is small but has all the necessary electrical appliances – though there are a number of bars and restaurants nearby should you prefer to eat out. There are lots of well-known landmarks within easy walking distance too – Campo Santa Margherita is just two minutes away and the Accademia Bridge is a five-minute walk from the property.




Sail Loft

This charming apartment boasts a rare feature that sets it – quite literally – above the rest. Climb the stairs from the third bedroom and arrive on the roof terrace, from which you can devour a magnificent view of Venice’s skyline, including St Mark’s Campanile. Because of this terrace, this home isn’t suitable for children under the age of 6, but it’s ideal for families with older children, and for groups of friends. It’s in a peaceful setting in the refined parish of San Samuele, close to all of Venice’s main sights, including the Grand Canal.

While not the best option for families with young children due to the vintage and delicate furniture, it's a great choice for couples or solo travellers. This tranquil Venetian haven is spread over four floors in the city's San Marco district. The rooftop terrace offers space to dine alfresco and some lovely views over the rooftops of the surrounding buildings. There are a lot of stairs here, making it unsuitable for children under the age of 6, but babies and older children are welcome. The main living space is on the second floor with multiple Juliet balconies – they're great for letting the outdoors in, but you won't have room to sit out on them. The kitchen is small, but fear not – there's a range of restaurants within walking distance, as well as vaporetto stops close by for exploring.

Casa della Terrazza

This apartment can be found in the chic and central San Marco area of Venice. The city’s main attractions, including the Rialto Bridge, Grand Canal, and St Mark’s Square, are within easy walking distance. We recommend resting your feet by seeing the sights from the water though – you’re in Venice after all. Rialto and Sant’Angelo vaporetto stops are nearby, so you can zip around the canals with ease. The home itself is traditional and fairly grand – you can look forward to Murano chandeliers and terrazzo flooring. With a building this old, you won’t find a lift, so it’s best to pack light. 

The Venetian Oasis

Situated in a typical Venetian building – this apartment has gorgeous views from the living and dining room over Venice’s charming canals, as well as glimpses of the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. If some of your group are split between a preference for a modern or characterful home – well this place mixes both styles. Guests with limited mobility should take note that this home’s building doesn’t have a lift. If that’s not a deal-breaker, you’ll love the location – the Peggy Guggenheim Museum is nearby, while getting to the Lido is easy as the Santo Spirito Vaporetto is just a short walk away.

The Stag's Eye

If you’re in Venice to soak up the history, the museums and the classic Venitian architecture, then this apartment already has you covered before you even start sightseeing. The building is an old palazzo, backing onto the Grand Canal with its own door to the water, should you arrive by water taxi. The 15th-century gothic architecture had us feeling the Venice vibes as soon as we stepped inside. Exploring the grand rooms, there’s a collection of antiques worthy of the Doge’s Palace – from sparkling silver spoons to gilded books and trinket boxes. It would be reasonable to expect somewhere in San Marco, right by the Grand Canal, to be pretty busy, with streams of tourists winding their way along the streets outside. We can’t stress how little that matches up to the reality of A Call For Quiet. It’s incredibly peaceful, and a wonderful atmosphere to return to after a long day of walking around the city.


A Call For Quiet

Just a short stroll from Santa Maria del Rosario church, this charming apartment is the perfect reflection of the floating city surrounding it. Elegant and traditional, you'll feel the warmth of the interiors from the moment you arrive, with high ceilings, timber beams and wooden flooring shaping the space as a whole. It's reassuringly rustic design will soon have you feeling comforted and at ease, while the modern furnishings and classy colours keep things stylish. 

The kitchen and dining area, with its duck egg blue walls and cabinets, is great for rustling up a homecooked fettuccine alfredo for you and your loved ones. And, when it's time for a quick lie down in between all the sightseeing, the regal wallpaper prints and sumptuous beds will lull you into a restful slumber. 

Ready to explore this majestic city? Location-wise, there's so much to love. From the great choice of restaurants along the Zattere to the sleepy calle where Katharine Hepburn starred in the 1950s film ‘Summertime’. Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and Squero di San Trovaso are also easily reachable on foot.

This sprawling four-story home in the heart of Venice's Dorsoduro district provides a retreat from the bustle of the city. Just a few minutes from the Zattera waterfront and overlooking a town square, you're close to local-approved bars, eateries, and even one of the city's last gondola workshops. But location isn't all we love – this home enraptured us with its opulent style, too. Each room boasts its own decadent colour scheme to match the plush handcrafted Fortuny fabrics on show. Two single sofa beds keep sleeping options flexible. And while the antiques and lack of lift mean children aren't allowed, we think groups of friends will enjoy calling this place home.

The Dorsoduro

With a central yet quiet location, this home in Venice's San Marco offers an atmospheric base you'll love spending time in – just look at the wood beams on the ceiling and that fantastic terrace overlooking a canal. This home is suited to both families and couples travelling together, as the twin room can be turned into a double, offering flexibility. The canal outside is quiet and the streets opposite are off the beaten path, meaning you'll get plenty of peace here despite being a short stroll from town squares, famous bridges, and delicious eateries. 

The Canals & The Terrace

Hidden in one of Venice's charming alleyways, this apartment may be pocket-sized, but it sure delivers on location. You'll find it in Dorsoduro, just a short walk from the eye-catching Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute and the artsy Gallerie dell'Accademia. It's on the first floor without a lift, so pack light. We love the Farrow & Ball wallpaper, and in a more practical sense, it's a good size for couples and the addition of a sofa bed makes sleeping arrangements flexible. We reckon you'll spend most of your time here out and about, however – especially since your host can arrange guided tours, gondola rides, cooking lessons and other special experiences.

Golden Florals

In the heart of the artistic quarter between the Accademia Bridge and the Zattere waterfront, this apartment is ideal for creative couples. The design is industrial with an open-plan living space, featuring a mezzanine floor and an open staircase. Though it won’t be the best option for guests with children and those that struggle with stairs – the home is a relaxing base for a group of friends. Where better to host an evening of aperivos, than your dining area? Situated just a few minutes walk from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, you can immerse yourself in Venetian art.
